I will be one proud fella tonight, grandson (6) is playing in an invitational team at City from up here in Lancs were we live v MCFC U7's.

He is already in the academies at Rags, (I know), and at Liverpool, (I know again), but hopefully he shines tonight and City show an interest also, as that would be brilliant to get him in there as well.

Not seen a City coach up here where he plays, but there has been from Rags and Liverpool and Everton, we also started taking him there (Everton) as scout wanted him, but after 2 sessions we knocked it back as the travelling and being a school night was not great, getting back late, Finch farm is near Liverpool airport, which as many will know is South Liverpool, pain in the arse place.

So fingers crossed he does well tonight, as to have him in at City would be a dream for me, and replacing Haaland in 15 years will be the aim hahaha

All the best mate, yeah you can’t turn good coaching down but hopefully he finds his way to City, if not I expect him to wear a City shirt to every training session!
My nephew is at Everton & you’re right it’s a bit of a trek from Lancs, it’s a great club to be a part of though. My grandson is at the academy on Sunday, he’s City mad & well looking forward to it.
His dad had a trial at City on the very day of the takeover, I thought he was tearing it up and the coach came over & asked if I wanted to pull him now or the end of the session, as he wasn’t what they were looking for :) remember thinking what a bunch of cunts!

It's harsh, we have been told, but that's too harsh, Christ, they are kids at end of the day

Get a bit of video, but try not to miss it in person, as in with your phone in your pocket. The memories and the experience of seeing it firsthand will never fade.

Congrats, proud Grandpa!

I really hope your Grandson does well.

A word of warning though:- My son trained with our two local teams Brighton and Crystal Palace in their youth sides for a few years. Utimately not making the grade, now as an adult, he hates both teams with a vengenance. I'm just relieved he never trained with City.

Oh I'm under no illusions about that mate, but he did very well last night to be fair, but as I said in my original post he's in at a couple of other clubs, so as long as he's enjoying it that's all that matters

A friend of mine had a trial with City as a fifteen year old. It was a full 11 a side game. My friend was the only starter that was not subbed, so he was hopeful. He never heard from City again. He’s a rag now.

Good luck to him.

Out of interest, what age do they start them? He's 6 and sounds like he's already being at it a while.
