On the most important day of the club's recent history, my entire family come down with a stomach bug. We're confined to our beds with water and faces like smacked arses.

Words really can't express how gutted I am that I'm most likely not going. I'm going to miss the best atmosphere the stadium has ever seen. But then again, I could also miss the worst performance by City in a million years.

I'm deciding at 2:30 over whether I'm going or not. Fucking illnesses.

Haha. I'm not sure whether that would be a positive addition.

I would go, but I'm sat in a stadium full of people who I don't want to infect (mainly my cousin). There will still be people sat in my seats, but that's most likely going to be my dad (who is fine now), my cousin and my cousin's mum.

I'm actually upset. I don't even care that I'm ill, because that just happens, but the fact that I might miss the game today is really hard. I've missed three home games this season because I went to Glasgow for the weekends we were playing Bolton, Blackpool and Fulham, but oh this doesn't compare. To know that I could be there... and now most likely won't be there.

I've basically got 4 and a half hours to make a decision on whether I'm fit enough to go.

Well, yes, because against United it was the Carling Cup, and basically the trophy that nobody really wants to win. And we still could have mucked it up against West Ham had we beaten Spurs.

This game gets us to Wembley in the most prestigious and old-fashioned cup competition in world football.
