Why don't you introduce a small flood control ?

I've noticed quite a few sql errors both today and yeterday .

A flood control might irritate members at first , but they'll adapt to it , and it will solve a lot of bandwidth problems .

What errors? Can you copy/paste them here?

There are two ways of fixing the problems: cut down on functionality/data/annoy users or working out root causes of problems. We work hard, so you don't have the inconvieiences of losing old posts, or flood controllers.

Thanks to everybody who has posted errors so far, although the mod team or myself may not instantly jump on the post, I can assure you that they are being took notice of, and they are being dealt with accordingly.
The MySQL err number 12 is a known issue at the moment, and I have it on the 'bug tracker', but please do not be afraid to post it again. It is a case of the more bugs you find, the more we can fix.

We are also working on a range of issues, and although we have gotten to the bottom of a major one (the site hit 700 users online today without falling over), we still have others to work upon. The slowness will eventually go away, as we won't stop working until it does :)

Thanks to Ric, Damocles and the rest of the team for all your hard work in keeping BM running and blues connected worldwide. It's very much appreciated. I can't pretend to understand the exact nature of the problem but like other members, if there's anything I can do to make life easier, just name it.
