I can't be doing with all this negativity re Bellamy..

I mean 'F**k Off Hughes' and 'He's shit!' and 'What can't we buy Villa?' yawn yawn bleedin yawn

Everyone knows that transfers between Preimiership clubs have inflated prices - fact! That's why managers look abroad for the cheaper deals. However, now the pound is struggling there is no guarentee of that either!!

I made a point of watching the WHU v Barcodes match at the weekend and Bellamy was excellent. We need a striker that can hit the ground running, can score goals in the Premier League and will work his socks off for the manager and the team. Bellamy, on current form, ticks all those boxes.

If he costs us 11, 12, 13 million - who bloody cares?? It's not your money - it's the sheikhs. If he wants to spend that amount to ensure we push on and turn this season round then so be it.

If we sign someone like Villa and he can't hack the pace of the Premier League - then what?? Torres had a great first season with the scousers but that's a one off and there is no guarentee that Villa will make the same impact.

We need players that know what the league is all about and improve on what we have got. Bellamy can do exactly that.

Just let the club get on with it and support whoever comes in - Jesus!!!

totally agree with you about bellamy as a player would be a good addition to our squad but we can,t be seen to be paying silly money for him i would,nt pay over 7 millon for him and if they end up paying 13 millon for him we will be sending the wrong message out to the other clubs that are looking to have us over i mean can you see anyone offering us 5 millon for vasell when he,s not even worth a fiver!!!!

Re: BREAKING NEWS... CRAIG BELLAMY

That's quite good Nixon. I hope he signs because right now we need a miracle to get into Europe again!!

Re: BREAKING NEWS... CRAIG BELLAMY

Thourght I would try and find something that I liked about Bellamy and eventually found this, I thourght I was on to a winner

On 6 May 2008 plans were announced for the building of the Craig Bellamy Foundation for disadvantaged children in Freetown, Sierra Leone. Bellamy has visited the war-torn West African country and has reportedly been moved to invest £650,000 of his own money to help build a football academy to develop the country's young football talent.[26] Although during the trip he is alleged to have attacked a charity worker whilst drinking and gambling in a casino. He has chosen to sue the publisher of the article, but hasn't denied the actions.

Untill he attacked a charity worker that was.

Re: BREAKING NEWS... CRAIG BELLAMY

And if anyone thinks bellamy will be a short term fix think again cos no one else will be prepared to pay £70k a week for the twat

Re: BREAKING NEWS... CRAIG BELLAMY

I am veering very much towards Hughes going now so that the incoming manager has some time in the transfer window however, at the back of my mind I am still hoping he can pick up a few more solid players (like Bridge) who will contribute to the team etc etc and most importantly hopefully put a string of positive results together over the next month or so.

For me signing Bellamy for £10-14m is a not a step forward at all. He does not have a great scoring record in recent seasons but does seem to excel at causing dressing room unrest and keep the physios busy. If Bellamy signs, I think my mind about Hughes will be decided.

Bellamy is 30 later this year and would surely be a short term expensive signing. I'd rather we signed Podolski who would be cheaper in transfer fee, would be a good signing now and for the future. Two years from now Bellamy will be in the twilight of his career and Podolski will be 25 and coming into the best part of his career.

what position does he play? :)

He's our new left winger. Unfortunately he's not very good on crosses though ;-)

yes but this could be the superstar we are looking for to take us to the promised land who isn't have a great time of it at the moment, this could really help resurrect his career.

This is exactly the kind of post that got my back up in the first place. Podolski can't get into the Bayern team. Who's to say he's 100% fit? Who's to say he can cope with the pace of the Premier League and score goals NOW - which is what we need?

Two years from now - who bloody cares if Bellamy is 32 - we are in real danger of being sucked into a relegation fight this season and he is ideal to get us out of it!!
