Thought it deserved its own Pre-, In-, and Post-match thread.

No Navas or Silva for this one but we likely see Fernandinho in action.

I'm also always excited to see some of the youngsters get a run out and am hoping to see Saurez and Huws get some time.

Re: Pre-season: Supersport United v Manchester City

Pellegrini's first City XI to face Supersport Utd: Hart, Richards, Kompany, Garcia, Kolarov, Barry, Fernandinho, Razak, Suarez, Nasri, Dzeko

Lineup

Hart, Richards, Kompany, Garcia, Kolarov, Barry, Fernandinho, Razak, Suarez, Nasri, Dzeko

It's a 4-3-3 Very interesting.

Looks like the "Garcia could be used as a CB" theories weren't far off.

It's a 4-3-3 with players who prefer playing centrally in the wide forward roles, looks like the same lack of width we saw under Mancini unless Richards and Kolarov are camped in the opposition half.

And/or it is just a test to to see if a fluid possession-based 4-3-3 can work against a tighter opposition.

That's true. Hopefully Sinclair gets played today.

I am interested in seeing the impact of Fernandinho and Razak together. I've always liked a 4-3-3 with two central midfielders rather and 2 defensive midfielders and a 10.

I still think there'll be a lack of width.

-- Sun Jul 14, 2013 1:22 pm --
