Hello all,
Today we have upgraded the forum to change the way that videos are posted. We have noticed numerous people having a bit of an issue with the way that Youtube videos work, messing about with the link and having to edit and it's something that just didn't work in the way that we wanted it to. The new [video] tag eliminates this and you should be able to just post the link as normal and the forum will sort out the rest. This also supports playlist posting from Youtube.
Along with this, another issue that was looked at was the greater popularity of video sharing sites. When we first introduced the Youtube tag to the forum it was really the only place people hosted videos but as the web and userbase have grown we have seen a larger range of videos posted. Due to this, the [video] tag will now support any video from Youtube, DailyMotion, Vimeo and Ustream. We do not support the embedding of livestream from Ustream.
A change that users may notice is that the Youtube tag has disappeared from the posting screen. This hasn't been removed from the forum code and you can still use it if you wish, which will also ensure videos in old posts are not broken.
The biggest change that people will notice is that our video player will require JavaScript to be turned on for our site. This doesn't mean for all of you ad blockers that you will have to enable advertisements (though we hope you'd choose to support us by doing so), only that if you use the NoScript extension you will have to allow scripts from the bluemoon-mcfc.co.uk domain. If you don't know what I'm talking about here you probably aren't affected.
Those on Tapatalk who have to click the video to which it will open in a new window but apart from this, it should work fine.
This is a test rollout of the new tag and we're expecting some small teething problems so please bear with us.
To use the tags just insert a link as shown:

When reporting any problems, please let us know what browser and version you are using (you can check this here) and what the problem seems to be
