Seems a low fee in today's mental market I just don't think we need him with kompany stones and otamendi all expecting to start and tosin there as cover.

If we're going to sign another CB then let's sign a solid defender that reads the game well rather than another ball-playing CB.
Ideally a centerback signing would have both of those attributes, no use in getting someone who only has one of those.

Don't know whether he is good enough, but we have a lack of left footed defenders now (only Mendy), so if he is good, then it would make sense. :)

I also tend to welcome a physical player like Mangala in PL. But it seems Pep has a different view. He would have someone like Hummels maybe.
Which is fine as well as that means we will soon have a new left CB better than Mangala.

I tend not to remember goals against us so genuine question. Did we concede many goals last season from being bullied in the box or from headers ? My overriding impression was getting done for pace on breakaways. I think the fullbacks will solve a lot of our defensive problems.I also tend to welcome a physical player like Mangala in PL. Our defence was bullied by both Lukaku and Costa last season off the top of my head, though they weren't headers more holding off defenders.

You might be right regarding fullbacks.
I was heading to Kompany being a risk (hopefully not!), Kola gone and Ota/Stones not being comfortable as a left CB
and thus not the best option of a pairing.
We will see soon if Pep is happy with our left CB options or not.

Yes Danilo is more technically gifted than Martinez. Martinez should not be anywhere near the current transfer list we have been acquiring.

Well, end of the day Pep will stick to his philosophy of "10 midfielders" and that's why he is no Mangala fan.
There are not many though who would fit on that level.

Yet everytime he has the time he uses his right foot, even his relatively accurate long ball attempt, something he doesn't really do, against United the other day was executed with his right.
But yeah, anyway, his body shape and 'kicking style' or how to call it, isn't exactly compatible with our current demands (even though I think his vision for a CB and actual passing when he's got a bit of time and space is spot on).

Now, watched some vids and being quite impressed.
Question is why he never left San Sebastian being 26. Some big clubs thinking about him but no one signed him. Hm.
He is missing some height (1,81m /5ft11).
Maybe he is a much better candidate for DM?
Accurate passing, reads a game well, great long passes, good at steals/tackles, strong personality.
DM, does that make sense?
