Injuries 2024/25 | Akanji & Foden back in training

KDB managed most of Belgium's 1st game and all of their 2nd match against Ukraine. That must be his first full 90 minutes for about 18 months. How great it'd be if he could get back to something like his old self.

Let's hope he has an uneventful and safe journey home. No stubbing his toe; straining his back, putting his suitcase in the car, etc.

The thing I don’t get. Rat face Fernandez plays every game for them, mostly the full 90 plus minutes. All the international games for Portugal. The goofy , snidey **** never gets injured.
I don’t think we have had one first teamer (recent signings apart) who has not been injured. Even Eddy and he just stands there.

The ones the players wear cost about 300 quid and have carbon fibre woven in them. There was a point about 10 15 years ago where players were getting lots of metatarsal injuries but they have solved that. The cheaper versions are still made from a flimsy synthetic material so if you don't want to break the bank I'd get some leather boots for your kid at least, can't beat a pair of good old Copas.
I’ve worn variations of Copas for the last ten years but am now wearing the nike mercurial vapour elites after my lad bought some then grew out of them after a month or so. Having suffered numerous bruised toe nails and even a dislocated big toe over the years I can tell you I’ve totally changed my mind on these new lightweight boots, they’re brilliant to wear, comfy and light as and have suffered no more injuries than in any other boots . I still wear the leather adidas for training but way prefer the Nike for games.

Yeah the technology and research that goes into them now is crazy, they treat them like designing a car nowadays.

They fucking cost like a bastard car too

They certainly aren't cheap but they make them at lots of price points. If you are playing at a decent level it's worth investing if not get some good old leather ones. The cheapest versions of the flashy new styles can be quite plasticy and horrible.
