Our transfer window was baffling and did nothing to address the chronic needs of the squad - Hold midfield, central midfield, strikerI said it at the time so I'll say it again, we had a poor transfer window in the summer imo. It was madness to let Alverez go for £82m and not sign a replacement.
Now we will try to sign someone in January, whether we suceed or not is a different kettle of fish. But we will be buying from a position of weakness as everyone knows Rodris out and the other long term injuries that we have.:-(
Selling Alvarez for £80m was good business; selling Delap for £15m possibly rising to £20m was also good business. Not buying a striker to spell Haaland and utilise wherever needed was absolutely bonkers.
Cut to today and Rodri has eventually broken down - we have no deputy at all. Last night we couldnt bring on a striker as the only 1 we have in the entire club is knackered because he has to play pretty much every minute of every league/CL game.
Granted you cant legislate for such a rash of injuries, but we have also needlessly dropped ourselves into a situation where there was no cover at all at some key positions.
