Injuries 2025/26 | Gvardiol tibia fracture (p59) Dias 4-6 weeks (p70)

Was at the game yesterday
Anybody got a video/gif of the tackle?

I’ve just watched it. He won the ball and didn’t even seem to plant his foot to create a bend that’d cause a break. The only contact was his own trailing left leg seemingly hitting the back of his right leg but can’t imagine that’s caused a break. He’s then planted his right leg and then hopped immediately back onto his right leg. He tackled Gusto who didn’t make contact with him at all.

Just very unfortunate. Typical.

About the 48 minute of the game. 2nd half link here: https://www.footballorgin.com/manchester-city-v-chelsea-full-match-4-january-2026/

And according to a quick google search this is a serious injury
Depends what you mean by serious, no tibial fracture is completely trivial, but there are a lot of different places where it can break and degrees of severity.

I haven't seen the video but at the match it looked like he was bothered by his ankle so it may be a medial malleolus which could be worse though it's probably season ending.

Tibia is the thicker bone of the two in your shin and thus harder to break. I wouldn't count on seeing Josko again this season. The club needs to pay a premium to get Guehi in immediately in regards to the rest of this season and beyond, given Stones, Ake and Ruben cannot seem to stay fit for a season. Indeed the former 2 are goners in the summer anyway so there's a clear need here.
