Injuries 2025/26 | Gvardiol tibia fracture (p59) Dias 4-6 weeks (p70)

He cost 30m I would kept him just because history tells you stones and Ake always get injured and stones especially gets injured plays around 10 games at most!
Also, Stones could (if fit ?) have been moved up to defensive midfield ?
After the last, exhausting 20 minutes yesterday, Pep must make earlier changes and use all 5 subs.
If the kids are on the bench, they need to be used.
Brighton (like most teams nowadays) use all the allowed 5 subs to keep up their energetic style of play.
Rico and a couple of the kids need to get at least 30 minutes on Wednesday, as they must also start against Exeter...

That doesn't sound good, we must be desperate and bad news is likely coming with Dias/Gvardiol then
Surprised it is Alleyne. He is getting a lot of game time at Watford and playing well. I would prefer to see him stay for the remainder of the season there and develop his career. It seems very short sighted , unless Dias, Gvardiol, Stones are out long term.
Simpson Pusey and Bah would have been easier options, especially as Mfuni is here already.

Just to clarify recalling payers from loans

Key Factors for Recalling Players

  1. Recall Clause: The loan agreement must explicitly state the parent club can recall the player, often with conditions.
  2. Transfer Windows: Recalls typically only occur during official transfer windows (January/Summer) when new registrations are permitted, though exceptions might exist.
  3. Minimum Period: A player usually can't be recalled for the first 28 days (or similar period) of the loan.
  4. Fee/Compensation: A recall might involve a fee paid to the borrowing club, especially if it's mid-season or ends a fee-paying loan early.
  5. FIFA Regulations: For international loans, FIFA rules (like Article 10) govern the process, ensuring contracts are standard and loans count towards club quotas, complicating things beyond domestic rules.
  6. Why It's Different for Foreign Loans
International loans are more complex, involving FIFA rules that regulate how many foreign players can be involved in loans, affecting recall possibilities and club strategies.

Doesn't look good short-term for Gvardiol, also not likely we'll be signing a CB in January based on this:

At risk of sounding glass half empty, that is a hint at terrible news for Gvardiol and potentially Dias. Terrible as in weeks out.

No Guehi either, presumably only interested if it’s on a free and thus too good an opportunity to pass up/try on.

Also surprised it’s not Reis. Which, again presumably, is to maintain good relations with Girona.

He won't use the kids as he's shit scared they'll make a mistake in the time they're on the pitch. They all have to start against Exeter and that means there could be an almighty shock result in the offing. It is what it is

Depending upon the news about the injuries to Gvardiol, Dias, Nico, NOR and Savinho we could be well and truly fucked and on a knife edge of another injury

Brought this upon ourselves with the lack of rotation of key players, not even giving them a break late in games. Pep not using RAN and Marrmoush when available seemed strange at the time and now is baffling

In the summer Stones should have been told to find another club and a starting replacement signed, this is based on his appearance record not hindsight
No RB signed, we have got away with it at the moment, there is no credible back up for Nunes as Kush will be the starting CB for awhile, the only option now is Rico who Pep has seems to have lost faith in since he signed his new contract
This squad quality wise is not deep enough to take all four competitions seriously and so the EDS should have been used for Carabou games

Alleyne makes sense as he's equally comfortable playing on the left or the right of a pairing, whereas Reis prefers the right. I'd imagine if Dias' injury was serious they'd recall Reis too. Big opportunity for the lad.

Not good for Alleyne.
Needs to be playing regular football

Could go back if things don't work out before the end of the month.

Big opportunity for the lad to impress, FA Cup Games and 2 League Cup games where he might have a great chance at starting at a minimum.

Kabore is currently back at the club. Was injured and recuperating/ training at our ground.
Supposedly OK now and heading back to Wrexham. I'd recall him as back up to Nunes and both himself or Nunes could fill in on right side of midfield too.

He is impressing every week where he is.
As soon as he plays one minute for us, he cannot go back.

We can cope without one of Dias or Gvardiol, but not both. If Gonzalez is injured as well we might be in a bit of mither defensively. And a few other are looking shattered - Bernardo, O'Reilly, etc.

Not necessarily no Guehi, might just mean we need somebody in for Wednesday and Saturday. Guehi deal would take longer and sounds like we're in need now.
