Injury Updates

The lack of transparency over Fodens injury gets concerning the longer we wait for an update. Those type of injuries where we don't get details do often end up being a lot more serious. Southgate said something like it wasn't a serious injury but the final would be a few days too early for him, that was nearly 2 months ago now. When he is back training he's going to need a few weeks to get back into it. Need him back in training this week if he's to have any involvement in key games against Chelsea and Liverpool.

Agreed- I thought it was odd that Phil wasn't wearing a boot during the Euro final but then started to when he returned home. I believe Pep even said it was a 'complicated' or 'complex' injury. Foot injuries can be very hard to diagnose with so many small bones. He said in that Sky interview a few weeks ago that it was still a little sore which is a bit of a worry. Fingers crossed.

I was worrying about this last night, do we even know how he was injured?
Was he injured by a fellow England player in training?

Surely it’s the dreaded metatarsal injury. Small bone fracture, but when you’re constantly putting pressure on it, and hitting a football at 60-70mph, let alone the jinking left and right that is his stock in trade, it can take a while to heel and then be pain free. Also, lots of nerves in the feet, so feeling no pain from a trauma can take a while.

He’ll have to be reet before they let him kick a ball about again, and will be like another new signing once he gets up and running in the side again!

baffles me why the club never lets our supporters know even remote details of player injuries.
always just get vague descriptions from Pep

Was able to use the app “PhysioRoom “ but they no longer give list of players and their injuries.
