Ins and Outs 2022-2023

I agree we have had a very good window when we look at the players coming in and those going out and the overall “Net” position/roles.

Prior to last season we lost Aguero and brought in Jack, so numbers wise the same entering the season from memory. However, we lost Mendy and then chose to sell Torres. So we’re two down at season end from what our squad was going into that season. I could see Palmer replacing Torres but we’re still exposed in the FB space.

Personally think we need a Cucurrlla plus one other - and the plus could be either a LB or RB, but we need a 4th to supplement (Walker, Cucurrlla and Cancelo). However the club may view Cancelo as the floater full back (ie plays either side depending on injuries) and if needs dictate Ake plays LB.
Given the the full backs we’ve seat got are going to want so much playing time I’d be happy with someone from the youth team playing the cup games and sub appearances in the league. I like what I’ve seen of Wilson-Esbrand. He could step up

might be we use Kabore at RB as cover for Cancelo / Walker and have Cucurella and Cancelo at LB

Jesus -> Haaland
Sterling -> Alvarez
Zinchenko -> Cucurella
Steffen -> Ortega
Fernandinho -> Phillips

Thats a decent window if ever there was one
We started last season with Ferran and Mendy.

Mendy > ?
Ferran > Palmer?
Jesus > Haaland
Sterling > Alvarez
Zinchenko > Cucurella
Steffen > Ortega
Fernandinho > Phillips

Some of that is wildly incorrect tbh
Patrick Roberts, for example, went on a Bosman for nothing. There is no way on earth we got £3m for him
It also has Sterling as £55m +£10m add-ons. I don't believe anyone was reporting that figure? Instantly disqualifies the graphic and makes anyone using it seem small-time for inflating arbitrary net spend fees.

He had a year left we got an undisclosed fee for him. Up to 3m with all the addons was the report in the MEN and local press.

I stand corrected. Though I’m assuming he would need to win the Ballon D’or, Love Island and Eurovision back to back in order to trigger £3m from Sunderland
oh yeah, we'll be lucky to see over a mill I think.

Asked Brain about the sterling fee, he'll be updating the list asap.

We haven't lost Ake, so our centre back choices remain. Cucurella or not, as long as we sign a good LB, this is truly a wonderful window.

I would be prefer not losing Zinchenko so we don't have only 3 full backs, but I can live with Ake and Cancelo covering for LB.

There will be more exits to come and potentially more cash. Apparently Yan Couto is agitating for a permanent departure, probably £7-10m or so there. And a few other CFG players as well.
Also need to sort loans or transfers for the likes of Fiorini and Rogers from the academy. Apparently Blackpool being linked as their new manager had them both on loan at Lincoln, though would almost certainly be loans as they only seem to sign free transfers these days.
Amazed neither of the old firm teams has picked up Fiorini, Scotland u21 international

I think peps having a radical change of tactics next season no more "tippy tappy" football lets get back to the "give it some welly" style,
I think everytime Eddie gets the ball Pep will be screaming at him to "Hoof it long" & "get it in the mixer" while Haarland will be trying to "get yer head on it son"

Edozie's transfer hasn't gone through yet I don't think. £10m reported.
Yan Couto. £7-10m.
Issa Kaboré has had bids of £17m reportedly too but is likely to stay on loan at Troyes I've heard.
I'd expect Claudio Gomes, Yeboah Amankwah, Iker Pozo, Marlos Moreno, Yangel Herrera, Daniel Arzani (contract?), Ante Palaversa, Slobodan Tedić, Nahuel Ferraresi, Nahuel Bustos, and Thomas Agyepong to leave permanently either this summer or next. I'd expect at least £25m from that batch if not upwards of £30m.

That's another potential £60-70m coming in. ∼£50m if we don't sell Kaboré.

Those in bold are already out of contract or out next year, doubt they'll raise much. Only Yangel will command a decent fee out of that lot.
