If A defender and attacker went up for a header from the keeper , just in the attacking half, the ball grazed the head of the defender, while an attacker is stood 30 yds offside(or offside position )on the 18yd line waits for the ball and taps it home. The defender under the interpretation you were taught has played the forward onside.
It used to be the defender had to play a deliberate backlash, and this new interpretation throws up all sorts of possible carnage..

Its amazing what Luis Enrique has done with a Spain squad that has little quality up front. They way they steal possession from everyone , even a side like France , is impressive. Had they more talent up front , they'd win trophies. Imagine Luis Enrique in charge of England's squad.

Nothing really to do with the goal tonight, and not important anyway, but I really quite dislike Kylian Mbappe. Outstanding player, obviously, but not particularly likeable imo.

It's been noticeable that all the stories we got when he first came through about how humble and down to earth, old head on young shoulders etc. have pretty much dried up.

But I suppose earning a few hundred million by the time you're 23 will do that.
