iPhone 3 stuck in recovery mode.

Can anyone help me with this?

I was helping out a friend this evening with their iPhone they had bought from one of those second hand shops like CEX.

He said it was going slowly so I synced it up to my mac fine. Then I performed a restore on the phone without realising it had been jailbroken.

Noe the thing will not get out of recovery mode. I've tried a dozen google fixes and none have worked. I really don't know what to do.

I'm thinking of taking it to one of those shops you find on the high street that do all the unlocking business, does anyone reckon they will help?

i didnt think a shopt like CEX would take in jailbroken iphones.

If it is a 3GS and it was on firmware 5.1 and jailbroken that means it was a Teathered jailbreak meaning every time you turn it off you have connect it to the pc and run the jailbreak again

Try downloading the latest redsnow jailbreak software! Like I say YouTube is the place to look and a lot of trial and Error it could be a number of things!

Let the battery run out fully . Then try it on charge
My iPad did this with just a little circle turning round in the middle .

Cheers for this waspish. I searched out the 3g software, then used redsnow to re jailbreak it and its back to life. Only problem is, that it has lost the network unlock it had. I can't find a way to re unlock it without paying £15 in a dodgy shop.

I've just unlocked his phone again saving me £15 in the process. Last time I do a favour like this again for someone!
