My sister found her iPod Touch, which she had previously lost for a good few months. (Out of warranty)
She can't remember the password.

I tried to restore it to factory settings (Hold 'on/off' + 'home' then let go of 'on/off')
Instead of the option of restoring, I get this message:

I've tried it over 10 times, and it happens again. I take it it's fucked?

where to download firmware
<a class="postlink" href="http://www.felixbruns.de/iPod/firmware/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.felixbruns.de/iPod/firmware/</a>
hold shift then click restore in itunes then locate downloaded firmware
all should be well after that

I told you, I can't put it into DFU mode.
I just get that error when I try.

It doesn't show up in iTunes, or Computer,
