Ive just got a new ipod to replace my existing one, and I have heard that unless you change a setting or something in Itunes, when inserting the new ipod for the first time, everything is wiped off.
No it isn't true. Your iTunes library doesn't care what iPod you have connected.
But if the iPod has someone elses music on it then you will lose all the music off the iPod as it can't have more than one library associated with it. Not an issue if it's a brand new empty iPod.
its weird aint it then.. at xmas time i got given a 4gb ipod nano, and before i could do anything, it can with a message to install a newer version of itunes.
