The people of the middle east are, as posted above, among the friendliest and most welcoming on earth. I don't personally think you would have a problem going there, and if you have not visited that part of the world before, you will be enchanted by it's charms and the history of the region will bowl you over.

As regards to Visa stamps in your passport, we were advised by the locals to ask the border guards to stamp a piece of paper rather than the passport itself, and we didn't experience any resistance to that request, although you do have to keep the stamped piece of paper in your passport.

There is much to see and do in that part of the world, so go and enjoy it.
