Well, the USA has a President that thinks he knows better than everyone else - to the extent that he does not vet decisions among an expert staff.

If you're a far right Republican - well, I guess you like him - but honestly... Trump does not know best at all and isn't knowledgeable enough to make most decisions on his own. Poor governance is sure to follow. The clusterfuck mess we've single-handedly landed ourselves in wrt Iran is totally the fault of The Donald. As a result of this mess, I think that Iran will develop nuclear bomb capability unless Israel somehow intervenes.

And North Korea - KJU is playing Trump for the fool he is - they're likely to develop ICBM nuclear technology soon - or maybe that's already in place.

On the bright side - things in the middle east are now bound to escalate significantly - Trump is a non-interventionist who has provoked Iran to the point where now they must surely take action - our meager presence in Iraq will not be enough to deter Iran should they decide to go big. Whatever transpires next is bound to be a disaster - on Trump's watch. Maybe, just maybe, this will be enough to cause him not to be reelected.

Trump is a non-interventionist - this latest aggression was probably caused by someone getting to him - not per-se his own thinking.

Which is my point exactly - chaotic, non-reasoned action occurs time and again under Trump.

This latest military strike is only going to provoke Iran - they must respond - and they're so pissed off that they will respond big - meanwhile, the USA has a non-interventionist President with an inadequate force in place in the middle east to thwart any big aggressive move by Iran. This is a clear recipe for disaster - which only some self-confident, arrogant personality such as Trump could possibly have gotten the USA - and the rest of the world into.

I don't think that WW3 will transpire - I hope. But it's going to be a godawful mess for sure. Completely avoidable should we not have pulled out of the Iran de-nuclearisation deal (yeah, I get that Iran was acting very aggressively and causing problems - but at least they halted their nuclear program and might have been brought into line eventually in other respects via negotiation.

Seems like politics is just as polarised across the pond as it is here, there are the them's and the us's. Obama bombed the living Jesus out of some places but he seems to be excused. The massive orange leper however doesn't get that hallpass.
Some bloke in a billowing frock threatens an even bigger man with an amazing toupee and comes off second, I doubt the Iranian leader will be bothered and the General in question will be called a martyr by the people who don't fight but send everyone else to fight in his own country.
