Iranian General killed by US Drone.

That's pretty cynical - most often facts are plain to discover. To counter this - Republicans under Trump - have resorted to complete made-up bullshit.

In general, the press in the USA is liberal - but, by-in-large - nearly always? - they don't make things up - yes, they'll spin facts if possible.

Under Trump we're to understand, for example, that:
1) Climate change is a Chinese hoax;
2) Joe Bidden interveened in Ukrainian affairs in order to protect his son from prosecution;
3) Obama really isn't an American citizen;
4) Russia did not interfere in the 2016 election - and if they did, it was to favor Clinton;
5) The border wall between the USA and Mexico is a necessary and effective means to prevent illegal immigration;

and so forth.

Spinning facts is lying, it's the same.

Just like in this country the opponents couldn't tell the truth because their already entrenched followers couldn't stomach it. This is an example, I have stated that both parties lie and you just moan about the Republicans. I'm not blaming you because you've been hoodwinked but take your own advice and look more deeply into so called facts before calling out someone else on their tardiness.

You clearly dont understand what irony means?
I put this to you - you've quoted my ad hominem sentence - claiming that I don't understand what "irony" means - if one were looking for a dictionary meaning for the word - one look no further than this.

At any rate, you're obviously closed to civil discussion - so I'll end my conversation with you here.

It started with the accusation that i am a far right populist or do you also have short term memory problems?

Judging by how quickly the US wiped out one of Iran's most senior generals then I think they have it all under control.
We don't have enough ground forces in place - who knows what will transpire next - but a huge Iranian offensive might occur - and the USA is not all ready for such.

There is no chance of an Iranian offensive. We talk of Iran like they are an unified enemy army but it isn't, it's just a country.

There is a lot of opposition to the Iranian regime even within Iran and going to war with the most powerful military in the world wouldn't be very bright.

It would make zero sense for Iran to do anything, this was about about deterrence and not revenge.

Stating such-and-such did occur but I think so-and-so about it... is not at all the same as
here's a completely made-up narrative -proving my point.

Journalists have a professional and ethical duty to be neutral - report the facts - that's it. What I'm saying to you is that the press in general is in fact liberal leaning in the states and has failed in their duty.

To conflate that with outright lying is an injustice.

Journalists are a disgrace to the profession now, i'd take away their freedom to report until they deserve to have it back again. In my country both sides of the political spectrum wont, don't and can't read the news that the other side reads, they wont even click a link. I take it by your answer it's the same over the pond too.
If you're telling me that either ALL journalists are good or just none Republican biased ones aren't?

Let's hope you're correct.

Meanwhile, the country is under enormous pressure due to sanctions - and the religious leadership is being challenged - though still very much in power - now, a strike occurs on Iranian targets. Seems like a perfect opportunity to turn this into a political us-versus-them narrative - and quite honestly... were I an Iranian general/religious leader - I for sure would push for big military action - especially given that Trump (huge non-interventionist - cares very much about reelection prospects above all else - and doubly so won't have any appetite for major conflict). Fuel up the tanks time.

My larger point is this - making things up just to promote a narrative is several orders-of-magnitude worse than reporting facts and then putting a spin on them.

To be fair, it seems that most (all?) of the made-up crap stems from so-called Republican opinion pieces, either on air, in social media or in print.

So it's not news per-se, it's just my opinion that:
1) Climate change is a Chinese hoax... and so on and so forth...

Poisonous - and blocking any possible rational consensus outcome.

How do we restore rationality when "opinion" is taken as fact.
