Iranian General killed by US Drone.

Kill one get another 50 free, Trump will be well pleased with the outcome.

There was an Iranian on the Jeremy Vine show, he said the crowds are orchestrated to a degree, the police close all the shops and round as many up as possible to go to funerals/demos, backfired on them if that’s the case, 50 dead in the stampede.

He won't be pleased at the size of the crowd though. It was about 20 time larger than his inauguration crowd. Bigly.

@tolmie's hairdoo To my previous point (and @Trevor Morley's Tache previous posts about the US-Iraq “withdrawal” letter)...

(This is not necessarily directly due to Trump, but it is very likely indirectly due to him, as it is a sign the now accelerated exodus from the Departments of Defence and State, and Trump’s erratic behaviour, is causing even more chaos.)

It happens a lot, they have fuck all to do in their down time, if that was the U.K. we’d all be watching on a TV in the pub not really giving a fuck. They are fanatical when something kicks off because they really do lead boring lives.

I'm willing to bet the leaked letter was the genuine article, and Trump saw his arse when it was leaked. No doubt one of his generals will be politely asked to resign. Either that or publicly shamed.

It’s a possibility — but I also wouldn’t be surprised at all if the letter was actually meant to be a draft for review and/or holding until such time as it was needed to officially announce the beginning of the withdrawal and it was circulated by accident or sabotage.

Such is the dysfunction in the administration already evidenced that a farcical situation like that is completely plausible.

Either way, it’s the sort of thing that would see a president knocked back heavily in previous times, but will ultimately barely register in the grand scheme of Trump scandals.

That is where we are now in general, though: things that would have led to the resignation of previous Presidents or Prime Ministers have almost no effect on the person currently holding the positions.

Leake on purpose to discredit the administration?

Someone on the inside trying (not very hard) to make them look bad?

You would like to think no one in the civil departments or the military would do that, given the precedent it sets even beyond Trump’s tenure (if he ever leaves)...

But perhaps the tide is turning and many within those realms are now genuinely seeing him as an existential threat to national security, the US as a whole, and the international community beyond, so have resigned themselves to taking drastic, potentially personally catastrophic actions for the good of the country?

A few would be privy to the full extent of his bumbling and the consequences of it right now and in the future (well beyond the understanding most of us outside would have) and perhaps think we’re approaching the point of no return (if not already crossed)?
