Ireland is a attacking mid not a cental midfielder, he needs to be played correctly in order to be effective.

Very difficult to make an impact as a sub in a game where the midfield was largely bypassed. Ireland should be on from the start, strange for someone to go from heartbeat of the team last year to the bench. He's the only player in our squad who can unlock a defence and he should be recalled from the start against Burnley. Once Robinho is fit I hope him and Ireland can link up the way they did last season because at times they were incredible to watch.

If you are talking about your post I agree. If Hughes had Ronaldo he would now be getting slated as being a Conference player. Ireland is a superb creative player being destroyed by Mr. Clueless, Mr Negative, Mr Defensive; who plays Barry who has been woeful defending and woeful all round today.

Idiotic post to be honest. Anybody who has played to any half-decent standard of football knows it isn't that easy coming off the bench. When he got possession today he showed class and composure on the ball as he always does. Would love for us to go back to 4-3-3 with Ireland, De Jong and Barry with Robinho (when fit), Tevez and Ade up top. That would give Ireland the freedom he needs and team him up with Robinho who he has a great undestanding with.
