Is 9 Trophies In 10 Years A Good Return Under Sheikh Mansour’s Ownership?

We are mate.

I will never ever dispute that.

I also appreciate Rome wasn’t built in a day.

And even with the best planning and will in the World, things don’t always go to plan. That’s life in general.

The question was just a general one, thrown out amongst City fans on BM, and not a criticism of Sheikh Mansour, the people who run the club, or the club itself.
I'm more than happy with the return, I'll never get greedy, and I'll never expect, just happy to enjoy, it might not last forever.

Of course........What true City fan wouldnt be happy ?

When you think of the crap weve been used too before

In terms of the CL, this is our 8th consecutive season in it. It took the rags 7 years to win it, Chelsea and the Scousers even more, as with Arsenal to reach the final so no worries on that front yet.
Chelsea fan.

I'd argue Chelsea's early tries at the CL were decent. We reached the quarter-final the first time we entered the competition, the semi-final on our 2nd, 3rd & 5th attempts, the final on our 6th attempt and another semi-final on the 7th. That's a fair record.

its a fair record, I don't judge a team by how many times it has won the xfactor CL cup. In this era where the teams are better technically and money is around with new owners, 9 trophies in 10 years is very good.

If you consider where we came from and, unlike Chelsea when they got a windfall and there was no tiger competition so they had a free run at players for a year or two, we are in an environment where even the bottom teams can reject bids and prize 40m players from top teams abroad, the goalposts have moved so far from the past. However saying all that I would have hoped for more. And given the way we’re going I’d expect the same return in the next 5 years than from he previous ten

There is some merit in what you say but bear in; a) lots of clubs rejected Chelsea bids, and b) our first CL quarter-final came before Roman bought the club.

That day in the final against Wigan was weird, the whole occasion was so flat I remember just say talking to a guy I knew sat next to me hardly arsed about the game really, queueing up outside City fans were singing you can stick your Pellegrini up your arse..only our club could do this, after the high feeling when beating Chelsea in the semis...

considering the constraints (& deep shit) we’ve been put under in the past by multiple shit head previous owners I think 7 (not 9!) trophies in 10 years Is a great return.

There should be 1 FA Cup and 1 PL to add to that IMO, that we fucked up, but we wouldn’t be City without drama.

Anyway, the future Is Blue I reckon and I wouldn’t change anything from our past. CTID.

I think the haul is about what you should expect to be honest. Moving forward I think we'll definitely average more than a trophy a season for the next decade (especially counting the Shield).
