Just watched the original footage. Looks marginally worse than the gif certainly, but still no more than a robust block with the arm. Certainly not an "elbowing" in the traditional sense, and if you think there might be an argument for Luiz to have been shown a red then I can only suggest that any game reffed by your good self would be lucky to finish 3 a-side

There were other niggles between the two and I think there have been in previous encounters so Sergio had obviously had enough. Still a red card offence but...

Luiz is a **** for that elbow he dished out in that cup game against lower opposition and deserved to have gotten stomped on, ban or no ban. He is a **** regardless of his status as Brasil's fresh starting center back.

but i'd like to see him continue as the free kick specialist for Chavski! cuz he'll balloon them over every time!

Well, Luiz ought to be thankful! That kick up the arse produced the goal of the weekend!! Training at Cobham this week will be restricted to jumping on Luiz's buttocks in the hope that he can rifle in another!!
