It has come to my attention that a second Seria A title is far from a done deal for the self anointed 'special one'.

A very poor AC Milan side, as witnessed at the swamp, are now a mere one point behind their city rivals.

Lose at Chelsea this week and his reputation may need a little revising.

Just thought it might be of interest for all those who idolize him on this site.

I'm not sure he wants to stay. He doesn't think much of Italy or Italian football. Whether he is or should be letting that effect the way he is doing the job is another matter.

It depends whether you think one poor season diminishes everything else he has achieved as a manager. Personally I don't particularly like his football but I do think he is a tremendous manager and IF they don't win the league this year it still won't detract from all the leagues he has won and from winning the CL with Porto which was a genuinely remarkable achievement in the modern game.

Could just be the same scenario as us under Sven in the last few weeks of the season. They know he's going and so does he.

And is he any good?

Only failed to win the league he was managing in once in the last 7 seasons.
131 consecutive games unbeaten at home.
UEFA Cup & CL won at Porto
Not failed to win a major trophy in any of the last 7 seasons he's been managing.

You're right - he's clearly crap.

I think the fact that he has won the Championship in Portugal, England, and Italy is a clear indication that he is pretty good....................

I wasn't suggesting he was no good. Just that he might not be the instant panacea that many on here think he would be.

At this point in his career he has won more than RM. But that might change if Mancini is given time here. Lets face it apart from Mourinho which other manager in world football has won as much as Mancini at such a young age.

I agree one poorish season doesn't take away from his achievements.

What I would like to move away from is the idea that Mancini is no better than the Redknapps, Moyes, Bruces, Hughes of this world. He was given the Inter job for a reason. And then repaid the owners in trophies.

As of yet the above mentioned British managers have not been given one of the top jobs here.

I don't think there is anything definitive to say that in twenty years Jose will be reagarded more highly than Roberto.

Mancini has outperformed Ancelotti in Italy and just got the better of him here too.
