Is Manchester airport the worst in Europe?

No real queues at security early this morning but the queue for beer food or coffee was ridiculous
Same situation for us yesterday morning.

Dropped bag off with ryanair in T3 at around 6.15am for a 9.15am flight. No queues at bag drop, and about 20 mins getting through security.

As for queues at the bar, what a shambles!

Honestly would recommend to just book the premium lounge for around £30pp where you can just walk up and get a beer from the fridge as you please

Exactly the same experience. Flew to Cyprus a couple of weeks ago. T2 with Tui, arrived at 4 for a 7am flight thinking with all the horror stories we'd need to give ourselves loads of time. Was sat in the lounge area by half 4 wondering what to do. Went to get a pint (as is the custom for an early morning flight out on holiday) and yep a total nightmare. Queued to get into the place then queued to get served. Killed another half hour though I suppose!

I flew from Manchester to Cork last night (terminal 3). No queues experienced but we had a long wait because we got there 3 hours early, just in case.

My 11 year old sulked deeeeeep for about 30 minutes about how Manchester Airport was "the worst airport in the world".

Somehow it was my fault that he was so grievously bored. Apparently Dads should ensure that all global traffic systems cater for the entertainment of young gentlemen.

Thank God for the pack of cards I had. Taught him poker while we waited, so "best airport ever" by the time we left.
Did you take all his holiday spends off him? ;)

Going away next week for a break … we’re thinking about booking the escape lounge in T2 . Has anyone used this is it worth it ? Flying out 8:30am , thanks in advance.

I've used it once a few years ago. Firstly you're restricted on the time you can enter it. Not sure if it's changed but I think you can only enter two hours before you're flight leaves. So if you're lucky you may get an hour before they're calling you to the boarding gate. There was a very slow person knocking out bacon baps or similar so not much chance of taking a few with you as once one appeared it was gone. The drinks were served too in glasses so no stashing any of those either. I guess for escaping the rabble if the airport is busy it's okay but as for value for money I'm not sure, unless it's improved. Also if you cop slow queues at check; n and security you may not even make it in there.

T2 isn't really a problem,who are you flying with.

T1 problems came about because they operated 2 terminals from it, t1 and t3 are the busiest terminals ,having 1 security point for 2 terminals plus the staff shortages was always going to be a problem,
Hopefully things are getting better.

As for Ryan air, you take your choice, you get what you pay for

We have used the 1903 lounge next door to Escape in T2. It costs a bit more but you get free booze, free food and the security skip pass, good view of the airport etc. Definitely worth it in my book (if you don't have kids as I think the main difference is kids aren't allowed in).
