Not long seen this small piece on the man and I can't hate on it, really.

Got nowt against Messi, I think he's a genuinely humble guy from the outlook, but nothing to fawn over, like the US fandom is doing.

And still at his age, he makes US players look like Div 3 players on the whole, but it's not the point I'm thinking on.

The knob that is Beckham has, literally, struck a goldmine signing him and that decision may just give US footy the push it needed to try and catch up to Europe when it was resting on its laurels.



The impact is ridiculous, especially when comparing his standing against US sporting legends.

I think there's interesting times afoot over the next 10 years for US footy.

I'm surprised no one has attracted Ronaldo even only for a season as that would excite the fans.

Maybe the Club world Cup will test that should their teams meet at some point.
