Is now the time to consider Mancini's tenure at the club

Re: Is now the time to consider Mancini's tenure at the clubs

Gutted, but not delusional. Glad for Bobby to stay and give it another go.

haven't read the thread but for me, league is and always should be the priority, any success in the champions league would be a bonus but means little without doing well in the league. look at chelsea, they flaked the CL and everyone knows their win doesn't mean much because they were dire in the league last year.

FORZA MANCINI
City is NOTHING in Europe
You really think City is a good team among Real Madrid, Bayern, or Barca???
Then make some mark in CL!!!

excuse me?
Win the premier league every year (Can they do that???) and get kick out from group stage of CL every year
Is that what you want?

I'd settle for 5 more premier titles and have Mancini for his full contract of five years then see where we are, the premier for me is what gives me the buzz and the ammo to whined up rags

That is the question. Winning the league and failing in Europe is OK or not?
Could be lot worse.
But winning the league is very hard many times in a row. In this league especially.
Chelsea, City, MU it can go anywhere...

But these group stage fails are horrible.

Someone wrote Wenger never won it, but how many times he failed in the group stage. He is at Arsenal since 1996 maybe he lead Arsenal in the CL more than 10 seasons dont think they failed in the group stages more than once.
Chelsea didnt fail in the group stage since Abra. They failed to win it unitl last year but they played CL final, CL semi finals, quarter finals earlier. That is a different kind of fail...
United failed in the group stage two times in 15 years.

Show me when Arsenal, Cheslea or the Shite have had the champions of Spain, Germany and Holland in their group. If we'd have had Braga, Clunge and The Mauldeth in our group we'd have pissed it as well!

The Mauldeth

best words of the night. Top buzz.

You base your assertions on wishful thinking and idle speculation, Mancini is the Man, stability in management is the way forward for our club not knee jerk reaction to a minor blip in our forward momentum

Yes, wishful thinking. I suppose we have a few FACTS to look at from my "wishful thinking"

Mancini:

Three Inter titles on the trot, failure in Europe each year he was in charge.

Mourinho:

Retained title and got to the first knockout round of CL in first year at Inter.
Retained title, won Coppa Italia, and won the Uefa Champions League in his SECOND YEAR.

But hey, we need stability, just like Inter did. If the entire financial stakes of the club, and its ability to grow didn't hinge on decent runs in the CL (NO I DIDN'T SAY "WIN"), then I'd be totally in agreement with you.... but unfortunately you're being small minded.

Anyone happy with winning the league year in and year out. Fantastic, I'm cool with that as well. Problem is, that's not the goal for the man who has invested more than everyone on this forum will make collectively in their entire lives. Its not fucking rocket science.

Having considered Mancini's tenure tenure at City I want the guy who delivered me an FA Cup and a Premiership title in successive seasons to stay. Anyone agree?
I'd like him to, it'd be nice. If we keep him he might do it all over again. Brill :)

If anything the team has gone backwards this season,we have not strengthened,we are not playing well and the lads are puzzled by the new tactics and constant changes.

He also appears to have no relationship with the players, this must surely reflect on team togetherness and moral.

based on what ??

When was the last time he even acknowledged one of his subs? He just appears so distant around his players, there seems to be no emotion whatsoever.

We have gone backwards, no question.

Certain players don't look fit or particularly interested to me. Kompany and Toure for starters.

Someone else on a different thread made a good point about players possibly feeling let down by the poor transfer window. Could be something in this. We should have kicked on, we didn't.

And, regardless of whether you believe Mancini is on borrowed time/warming the seat for Mourinho, he appeared utterly dejected after the game. For me, his substitutions looked a bit desperate. All four strikers on the pitch at the end. He didn't even do this against QPR.

Bluemoon makes me despair sometimes.

The club wouldn't have given him a 5-year contract if he was on 'borrowed time', it'd cost more to sack him than signing Eden Hazard would have just about.

and................................... read your psot mate and all I saw was somebody moaning :) we are in a tough group, anyone can beat anyone, regardless of money.
in a tough group is not an excuse
if you can think this way, other teams' supporters can think this way too.
But fortunately their team performed well, city didn't.

how is a group with madrid, dortmund and ajax not an excuse. Hardest group in the champions league
So?????? Did Ajax or Dortmund fans use that as an excuse???
As you scared of the opponents they scared of us too
but what now? they have their 3 points and you still here finding excuses for mancini
If you think that because it's a tough group then it's ok to give up or get eliminated...then they should never play in CL again...there are no weak teams in CL. That's what CHAMPIONS stands for!

Re: Is now the time to consider Mancini's tenure at the clubs

My memory's a bit iffy, but wasn't it after the Dortmund game (or was it Madrid) when Mancini said that he knew what was wrong, and that he would fix it? Any time you're ready Bob.

Answer the question on the last page (bottom of pg 23). Also why do you describe City as "they"?

No one in this entire thread has even hinted at the fact that we need to be winning the CL any time soon. NO ONE. Where the fuck do you people get your reading comprehension skills so fucked?
I think it is you that needs to read up, it has been mentioned in this very thread by similar fuckwits to yourself that Mancini needs to win it to prove himself. The valid rebuttal is that the chumps league is a lottery most of the time, and on any given night 11 can beat 11. Given our groups, nothing is guaranteed so I think you just need to calm down a little bit, and fuck off back to the Evening News website or Ragcafe.

We're dropping out of the Europa League and CL with teams that end up being relegated the next season in their domestic leagues. Someone post a list of the other clubs that were knocked out with us last season's CL? Not a pretty picture. Now we're going to be going out with Braga, Galatasaray, Ajax, Dinamo Zagreb, Anderlecht, Nordsjaelland, etc.

Do tell me. Should the Champion's of England, and the richest club in the world, be grouped with the above clubs? If so, please pass the drugs.
ERRRR, we are not out yet mate.

Hey goshogun......what time is it in China...????

U sirry fuckin idirot......

I'll take winning the league every year thanks, or " local " league as you call it.

If we win it every year and you beat part timers in the CL then get knocked out against the first decent team you play then I think most City fans would snatch your hand off......

In fact..... if you persist with your nonsense I think most city fans would gladly snap your fuckin neck u rag prick.
