Is our squad stronger or weaker than last year?

What do you think?

One question coming to my mind these days..or two

Sombody at the time said if you want to make your team constantly winning league titls you have to heavily change / refresh your squad every 4 year span.

Besides that quote, Im thinking where we are after 2017-18 season comparing with today?

Which team is better

Ederson - Delph - Stones - Otamendi- Walker- Fernandinho - Silva - KDB - Sane - Aguero - Sterling

V

Ederson- Cancelo - Laporte - Dias - Walker - Rodri - Bernardo - KDB - Grealish - Foden - Haaland

undoubtedly stronger, i'm a little surprised about the obsession with a new left back, Cancelo will play there for the most part, Ake and at a push Laporte will cover whilst Cancelo covers Walker with JWE in an emergency and for the league cup.

Midfield keeping Bernado and replacing the old warhorse with KP is great business whilst up front we have potentially the best out and out striker in world football and a young argentinian who (apparently) has the work ethic of Jesus and can also stay onside (the latter remains to be confirmed).

Ghoulish will have got used to the system and will be better and I believe we had seen the best years of Raz, who had slipped down the rankings anyway

In short we have got rid of 4 squad players and brought in 1 who will be nailed on first choice and two others who have the potential to be first choice, and still a month to go.

Lastly we have replaced Steffen, who never managed to convince me, although to be fair I know little about his replacement and that may turnout to be a disaster.....

That front 5 of 2018 is the most balanced we have ever been, but overall 2022 is stronger I believe

I put "about the same" because of Jesus and Zinchenko were awesome squad players and could be missed. But hopefully not.

Stronger despite losing a technically brilliant player in Zinc. Watched him play for Arsenal the other day and slotted in seamlessly. Looked really confident and at ease with his new team.

Haaland miles better than Jesus
Sterling you’d have to say was probably much more productive than Alvarez will be initially
Philips is clearly better than an aged Ferna

So barring anymore departures we’re stronger

The team has got stronger however there are question marks over the squad depth
