So do Zabaleta and Roque Santa Cruz. It's nothing about being well managed. It's just the time these 3 players were given off after Copa America.

Right, no reason City training day couldnt have been on Thursday.

DAVID SILVA insists Manchester City's players will welcome back Carlos Tevez with open arms tomorrow.

The wantaway skipper is expected back at Carrington despite telling the club - again - that he wants out.

Prospective moves to Brazilian side Corinthians and Inter Milan have not happened, and now Silva hopes his Argy team-mate can be persuaded to stay at the Etihad.

He said: "Carlos has to return and that's great.

"He's a very important player for us.

"I don't think we'll have a problem. We know Carlos well. If he stays, great.

"There are a lot of competitions and we hope to play well in all of them. He would help that."

I can't believe the people having a problem with Tevez - if my family were far away through any circumstance at all that would mean I could only see them every month or so I'd hand in my notice tomorrow, no question.

He's a true professional, he didn't decide he wanted to leave yesterday, he'd been feeling the pain for months and yet he kept giving his all on the field and banging in the goals where it mattered. I for one, have no problem with him coming back and doing what he does best again, until we can work out a solution that fits all parties.

I think if people genuinely believed it was for family reasons then people would be more sympathetic towards him but he has failed to stay witha ny club more than 2 years in his entire career, his likely destination looks to be italy and he is likely to go back under the ownership of kia all these things have no bearing on him being close to his family.

Also the reason his family arent close to him is because of him this is my main annoyance he wont take responsibility for his actions.

so you would forego £600,000 per month (average £150,000 per week)cos you only saw your family once a month ?? yeah right.

Tevez will retire before hes 35 ( thats 30 years earlier than the rest of us) and the money hes making now will be more than enough to give him and his family a dream lifestyle for the rest of their lives...

Now id forgo time away from my family if that was the final result..what about those in the Armed forces 3 months/6months away at a time and a risk of not even coming home ever..And all for less than Tevez earns in a month..

Wow great comparison! There as different as chalk and cheese mate so comparing the two scenarios is complete and utter nonsense. I dont hold anything against Tevez. He has stated why he wants to go and very nearly went "back home" to be near his family. All this bollocks about "oh he can retire at 30 so he can then spend time with his family". That means that his kids will be 9, thats 9 years of their life he has missed out on - something money cant buy. Any normal human would want to be near their family and thats what he is trying to do.

simple quesion, is Tevez back Thursday?

Not so simple. He's supposed to report back on Thursday, he's said that he's not coming back to Manchester. If he doesn't report back he's in breach of contract.

Make of that what you will.

when did he say that?

If he wanted to be enar his kids when he was given time off to see them he would have gone to see them instead of going to tenerife with his latest girlfriend wouldnt he.

Also he is basically blaming Manchester as being the sole reason he cant see his kids, the man is paid hundreds of thousands of pounds to be here, there is no reason why his wife and him couldnt come to a suitable arrangement for him to see them but she isnt prepared to make that happen either.

Im sure he does want to be near his kids and we can all respect that but its at the expense of everything else to make that happen, there could be compromises made but the compromise seems to be what kia wants doesnt it.

Please dont start with the "wants to be with his family" line..City were more than willing to bend over for Corinthians with payments spread out over a long period to accomodate the Tevez wishes, when City then put in a 2 year no sell on clause to European club it all fell apart, this stinks to high heaven as far as im concerned and was just a way for his agent to get part ownership of tevez again (as he has links with Corinthians) and get a nice bit of bunce 6 months later when Tevez suddenly gets sold back to a European club.. If tevez wants to be with his family so much, here was a chance to be stuck with them for two years no questions asked but hey ho...you know the rest.
