Is the champions league that important to you?

I'm not bothered about it, I could do without it if it didn't mean half our team f*ckin' off if we don't make it. Its just a big money making scheme but isn't that football anyway nowadays!

1. Ability to recruit the top players
2. Worldwide audience leads to increase in fanbase and merchandise sales which increase revenue
3. Direct revenue
4. Prestige
5. Compliance with whatever stupid rules they come up with next about revenue and salaries and transfer fees
6. I want to see us play and beat the best of the best

Lets just say, if you want be a seriuos Club you have to play it.

I spoke to a rag today and what he said was like a nightmare scenario. He accepted that if City qualify for the CL,we'd have more pull in the transfer market for the top players and would also help with the FFPR situation due to the income it brings. He then said if the rags looked nailed on to win the title with games to spare,he'd be happy to see utd throw games against our rivals for 3/4th place just to keep us out.

yes, its a stepping stone to winning the premier league. the football world is sh**ting itself (esp those over at the swamp) we'll offer the best wages, champions league, the chance to win/ compete at the highest level.

not in the slightest, i support manchester city because i want us to play in the spirit of the game, to try and win all cups, to field our strongest team at all times, to play with a freedom and adventure, old fashioned values maybe but there you go.

the champions league represents everything that is wrong in football, an extended fixture list with one intention, to make money.

i crave the old days of 3 euro competitions and straight knock out.

still when i am 80 i can tell the grandkids i watched city at 100's of stadiums, and the highlight was 2011 when we finished 4th and city got a cheque for 30 million, it enabled our multi millionaire footballers to earn even more money, and the chance for our club to up the ticket prices under the guise of, if you want to see the top players you must expect to pay for it.

In a nutshell, particularly "to play with a freedom and adventure".

FA Cup for me. The champions league should be still called the European Cup, and for the champions only. In its present format it's dull, group games tedious etc should be straight knockout

Totally agree, domestic competition more important for me,never wanted a
european league.

Essential to all our future plans.

CL football is the be all and end all and whilst you might not like that, the money involved has made it that way.

Winning the FA cup has become nothing more significant than a jolly day out unfortunately in the grand scheme of things.

It is to the club because of the revenue but is the average blue bothered? if so why?
I'd rather get 4th than win the FA Cup because it means we will be able to compete in the best club competition. It will challenge our existing players, and buy 1 or 2 special plaers.

We need to progress as a club and the Champions League enables us to do that.

An FA Cup win would be a great day, and something to remember forever, but the floowig season we'd no be much better off as a club, and I am not talking finance, although that is a factor too
