Is the nickname the "citizens" copyrighted?.

Had some junkmail today from Sydney F.C.,they are now calling themselves the Citizens.Obviously they play in Australia's A league,but can you imagine another team calling themselves the "Red Devils" and not getting sued.
It's only a recent thing as I'm sure they didn't call themselves that last year,I hope that City are across this.
Some may say that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery,but they are shite and are tumpeting the "marquee" signing of Brett Emerton at the moment.

Salford Rugby used to be the Red Devils until the scum pinched it.

I'm aware of the Salford Red Devils having been robbed,but surely if they'd trademarked it Stretford wouldn't have had a leg to stand on legally.

I know some City fans like it, but i've never called us that. Blues or City, we don't need a gimmicky nickname, especially one bestowed upon us by the press.

I can't find any link to Sydney going by that name, don't know why they would either when 'City' is not part of their team name at all. They would get called the Sky Blues though I reckon.

The only reference to "citizen" I can find is on their website where they are trawling for members. It states:

"Welcome to football's capital. Become a citizen"

Football's capital? HAHAHAHA!

As well as playing in sky blue, their stadium is quite similar to ours.
