Agreed he does, and I am trading the ability of Toure on the ball for the defensive ability of Fernando. My argument was that De Bruyne and Silva have got Toure's passing range and what we'd lose would not be vital, but we'd be stronger overall.
Guardiola doesn't seem to agree, but it wouldn't surprise me to see Guardiola make a change to he way we play in the final third of the season.
At the moment we are not the end product. There's still another jigsaw piece to go in. Ideally we'd fill it with a young Toure. I accept that Fernando is a one trick player. Maybe Guardiola wants ll his players to be very comfortable on the ball, but at the same time we somehow must beef up the defensive side of our game. It could be done with buying 4 Thiago Silvas, but that's not going to happen. Chelsea have a pretty average back 4, and are defensively so solid. Guardiola isn't going to copy Conte.
When I was watching City v Swansea, the whole ground just knew that unless City scored a second goal, Swansea were going to equalise. I felt the same at 1-0 vs Bournemouth, and this is a relatively confident City in a good moment. I still feel the defensive frailty is there
