The squad is too thin. One or two injuries or players off their form and we more than stumble. I think we can also put to bed the "any warm body will do behind the starters" theory of squad-building.

I'm bitter? Really? news to me.
No one has ever disregarded what Zidane did in his career because he headbutted someone in the chest, well until you today

So how does it make me bitter? Please, clarify. If we lose Isco, fair enough but I'll wait until it's confirmed one way or another before I begin proclaiming "We lost him because of Zidane".

I stated an opinion, in that listening to Zidane after what he did in a WORLD CUP FINAL (in which they later lost) would be a mistake.

Its bitter because you want to knock Zidane and say Isco is wrong to listen to him because of what he did in the world cup final.
As it happens I think Real Madrid are a much more attractive option to Isco regardless of Zidane. Yes he was sent off in a WORLD CUP FINAL he also won a WORLD CUP FINAL on his own practically

Not as shiny as Isco but still what was needed.

Navas will give us a different option, but i'm with you. If United strengthen, and I would imagine the Glazers will want to be seen to back their man, and we stick with those two signings, I can't see a genuine shot at getting the title back, and that's before taking into account the Chelsea factor.

? Pace, lots of pace and width. the main thing we were lacking last year so I do see a major improvment, at least in the options available to the manager.

although, we reportedly offered 45m for Carvani and 25m for Isco so thats £70m we have to spend so I cant see it just being Navas and Fernandinho.

Well yeah it pessimistic as they are 2 players that improve us but as we saw last year injuries take the squad apart and we need a couple more

Have some patience, the window does not close until 31st August!

Yestou are being a pessimist. Also I think there will be a massive improvement on last season. Two great new signings, new management team and I think we'll see a big improvement in all players.

why are we assuming that we won't make any more signings—is it august 25 or june 25 ffs?
I don't think it's that. I was under the impression he was responding to statements that the window could close now and people would be happy.

Those two alone should give us another 10 points. That'll be enough to win the league next term imo.

Bloody hell! Zidane is one of the greatest players to ever play the game. He lost his head, we have all been there. Vieira was known to as well. One incident. A certain Maradona handballed it once and then scored, still regarded as one of the best. A certain Messi did exactly the same. One incident in which he lost his head wouldnt sway my opinion. If Zidane talks to someone about football they sure as hell listen.

because the OS has said Txiki isn't looking for a replacement signing if Isco goes to madrid as expected, people have taken that to mean no more signings which, of course, is wrong.

nah, i'm with him, still have a faint hope, just waiting for a formal announcement

The mega flapping on this forum has been unbelievable. If we're being honest its more about being beaten to a player by Real than the actual player. The same sort of thing is going on over Cavani and Thiago.

Basic facts.

Isco is a good player with potential but not signing him isn't going mean we can't win the PL and progress in the CL. Signing him won't guarantee the PL title.

Cavani is a top striker but even with him up front and a team built round him Napoli didn't win their title or the CL. If he goes to Chelsea then some people are behaving as if he'll win the PL for them. Chelski have more problems than just getting a decent striker.

Thiago is another Isco, a good player with potential but again if the rags sign him its not a guarantee they will win the PL. The effect of el bacon retiring and gollum taking over will affect them more than you think.

We have a very good squad of players, signing of the season in Pellegrini and the potential to play exciting attacking football that will scare the pants off the PL. Sit back, chill out and enjoy!!
