This is surely a position we've got well covered...

We only have Silva and KDB as our player makers behind the front 3.

Aguero, Kelechi , Jesus, Sterling, Sane & Nolito are all competing for the front 3 positions and not playmakers.

In other word they are forward and not midfielders in Pep formation.

Nolito has covered in this position. Dinho can, too. Yaya can, too. And you don't necessarily need two every game.

Is that not where have gone wrong all those mentioned are 30 plus it's time for some succession planning , we are well covered but why not sell someone like Silva whilst he is still a decent player and get half the Isco money and a player that lasts 6 or 7 seasons

A few years ago, I'd have agreed with you. But the club must at some point transition to a model where instead of bringing people in from other clubs at great expense, academy products are given a chance first. And it's not inconceivable that the academy might produce players who could step up in this position.

There is also a case for retaining experienced players like Sila, even if they transition to deals where they play less, so they can pass on learning to younger players in the club, rather than moving them on.

I think we need all three signings academy players and experienced players
But I just feel we hold onto players too long then just get rid
The coaches and first team players should be able to bring through and help junior players
I would love a youngster to break through like the rest of us but also feel we need to reduce the age profile of the team
We are now amongst the big clubs all fighting for the one or two quality players that can improve the team
Is Isco one I'm not sure he is from a top top team and the right age though

Our squad is still heavily reliant on Dave. Would love to see someone fill his shoes eventually, Isco would be a good pick.

Isco will never get to the same level as silva and this is coming from someone who highly rates isco

Naah,we have Fernando and Delph.

When I had a glance at the starters today I just wondered who was gonna create the chances. We might have possession but where were the goal-scoring chances coming from. Behind the strikers the main deployment was in what I call 'destruction' of the opposition's offerings. Fernando is a destroyer and a simple defensive channel. He might get on the end of summat at a corner but he is not in any way 'creative'. Delph is a little more constructive and can score from outside the area but the constant stream of reasonable goal chances looked to be limited before we'd kicked off!

who do you drop though ? he will want to be first choice.
You don't have to drop anyone. You have 4 top mids of which 2 or 3 will play. How you do when you get your chance will determine how much you play overtime.

Gundo being injury prone and Sol a aging there will be opportunities for all 4.
