They're a medieval religious cult, very nasty people although as a fighting force we've got nowt to worry about. Good at cutting people's head's off but actual warfare they're crap

They know that themselves .... that's why they fight from within.
They have a really shite flag as well, needs sorting out if anyone's gonna take them seriously

What if you negotiate with subversive elements within the organisation?

Carlos the Jackal led the Opec raid and his orders were to ransom most of the hostages and kill Saudi Ahmed Zaki Yamani and Iranian Jamshid Amuzegar. That plan was never carried out, although there were logistical failures in terms of acquiring transport to a destination where they could execute the last hostages. A more fanatical man may have ordered a suicide mission to kill them, however between $20-50 million dollars was provided (and likely taken for his own use by Carlos the Jackal) and he was allowed to go on his way but he was kicked out of the PFLP for disobeying orders. Perhaps because he was a Venezuelan vanguard-Marxist rather than an Palestinian Arab, he was more likely to become insubordinate towards the chain of command. Is it possible that we could acquire the safe release of the hostages by finding similar (less than wholly fanatic, and corruptible) elements (possibly of a western background) within the IS organisation?

Just wasn't on the thread. You keep listening to your soundbites while your country sells weapons to every buyer in the middle east.
I'll worry about our soldiers and medics in the peace corps that go in and clean up the mess created by it.

Sorry where was I in agreement that we should sell weapons to every buyer in the Middle East ?

I just stated the case that ISIS are not for negotiating , they are jihadists and in there view fighting a holy war. You want us to just casually give this group of fanatics millions of dollars every time they shove a knife to an American head, correct ?

I don't give a fuck who they are, if people from my country, not the States are captive, I want them home with their families. I find it extremely hypocritical that the British and Americans trot out this "no negotiating with terrorists" line after arming the cunts in the first place. As for them using the money, you do realise it wouldn't be much use to them if the 5 countries I named would swallow their greed and obey the arms treaties they signed, don't you?

Read my post. What if you negotiate with rogue elements in the organisation or obtain intelligence from members that may regret joining up? The location of hostages could then be given to special forces for a possible rescue mission. Or money and a free pass to walk away from the conflict could be given to cooperative individuals who have assisted with the safe release of captives.
