Istanbul CL Final chaos | City Matters statement (p 133)

Stayed in the stadium long after the game. Knew the bus park would be hell - if our metrolink is poor then..... Walked straight onto a metro train. No issues.
Heart goes out to those with genuine ailments and disabilities. But some others should have worked it for themselves (no matter the recommendations), through previous experiences. Granted UEFA should have done better in certain areas, but some of the complaints are like we've never been out of the house. The moaning about the club not being vocal about this, is, I'm sure, more about bridge building diplomacy and perception. I imagine they are behind the scenes and out of the media.

When the dust settles, I can't think of a better city to have won it in. The history, the culture, the people, the location. Magical. (May not seem it to some though yet).

Respect your opinion but think you're well wide of the mark. Maybe if somebody used the shuttles and had a bad experience on the Friday could some people's plans have changed.

First shuttle to the Fan Zone in town from the airport was 3.5 hours. In theory I could have tried to get to the metro (wherever it was) after that and work out the 3 changes (or whatever it was) to get to the stadium. As it stood I was right where the buses were departing from to get to the stadium and as it was only supposed to be an hour journey this time the driver was less likely to get lost. This bus broke down. All things that are hard to legislate for. After the game I needed to get immediately to the airport and think the shuttles were the only way of doing this.

Fair enough - those going home that night were on a tight schedule- appreciate that.
Only 4 people I personally knew doing that, got the metro to Istanbul centre and then got a taxi.

Another point regarding the security at the stadium, I watched the game from the concourse at the back of our end and about 20minutes in there were at least 20, maybe more youth got in somehow, didn't see where they came from but some made it up the steps and into the higher stand, some were caught.
So much for the triple check ring of steel that we had to go through.
Witnessed the same thing - but only 2 people... wearing shorts and displaying sun reflectively white legs so most likely from round here. One legged it chased by security - made it into the bowl of the stadium and I've no idea if he evaded capture or not. When some straggling security came over looking for the other lad, he just casually stood around looking at his phone and they walked straight past him.

And a couple of sentence in public is all the club need to do
"The club are aware of a number of issues relating to fans experience and are currently in discussions with fans groups and Uefa. Further comments on next steps will be forthcoming"

As opposed to just assuming they are doing something.
It really is not hard to do. We can not have as our chairman says in his end of year interview "the best of everything not just players" and yet be so shit at this basic communication

Whooooooooosh …. we had digital tickets, hard to mail those in
Wouldn’t be difficult, tickets all bought direct from UEFA, they’ll have all purchase details. A good gesture would be to donate a % of the ticket money to disabled charities nominated by City fans and Age Concern, those two demographics were the ones put most at risk, really felt for them.

I've got curly hair and can do the accent if that helps me?
... how are you at getting blind drunk and vaulting turnstiles when ticketless? Any history of murdering Italians and then organising celebratory events on the anniversary of said murders
