It’s hot

FFS - just went to the car and found a multipack of 2 finger Kit Kats that must have fallen out of the shopping bag - possibly been in there for up to a week - I daren't open that pack up because I imagine there will be 7 individual wrappers of melted hell in there ......... thats a fail for me

Put it in the freezer once set eat!

We haven't hit 40 degrees for a day yet anywhere in the UK. If we do I wouldn't mind betting it is likely to be just one or two places, the majority of the UK will probably be middle to upper 30s. I am all for warning people and preparing where we can and certainly looking after our venerable and elderly. But I'm also massively in favour of people taking responsibility for their own actions. We seem to have moved away from that stance in so many aspects of our lives massively the last 30 years.

We overdramatise weather events in this Country, we give names to "Storms" when in fact they are no such thing meteterologically , ie they are only gales and or severe gales. These ott nanny state weather warnings are following the same trend imo. Don't go outside Its too hot !! Really? Anyway I accept that their will always be a mix of feelings from differeing people on these annoucements. That will never change. Have a good day.
There is the option not to watch weather forecasts if they raise your blood pressure too much.

what's the problem ? we're hitting our record ever temp in UK, we know with extreme heatwaves excess deaths happens - strokes, heart attacks etc, kids and people drown in lakes/sea and infrastructure is not coped to deal with this heat which means trains, planes etc can not run as usual

why should the media not be warning the public to be safe on days like today if it can help reduce the issues above - don't see the harm at all.

also noticed you've backtracked on the temp. yesterday was '' Still a way off the 41 degrees predicted by the nanny state and media''

Weird person alert!
Whilst, apparently, the rest of the country couldn’t sleep last night I had the best night’s sleep I’ve had in weeks, if not months!! Go figure.

I did have the fan on so maybe the soporific noise lulled me off but 4 hrs followed by almost 3 hours is a record for me.
I had a great nights sleep as I finally managed to persuade my girlfriend to remove the duvet from the quilt. Stuck the fan on a four hour timer so I could fall asleep with it on but have itself turn off during the night and it was bliss.

Haha they don't raise mine, they clearly worry many on here tho. I actually have an interest in weather and learnt about climate change as part of my degree way before it was a widely known fact. Just not keen on the drama.

You are the most prolific poster in moaning about them though, beating @blueinsa into second place.

Most news is basic stuff if you have an interest in the field. It’s broken down so that the people with zero knowledge have a chance of understanding.

Me too. Just fell asleep instantly on top of my bedding & woke up 5 minutes before my alarm was due to go off.
