Less attack minded than some of the others and can swap it to a 1-2 up front or swap KDB & Foden. I was thinking of a lineup Pep may feasibly use - making use of the attacking strength of Nunes/Josko while mitigating their weakness. Fuck knows if it would be effective

Now is not the time to move Foden to the bench. Our meltdown on the pitch is seeping into the minds of our supporters.

People have this thing that Stones will be a great defensive midfielder.
He was great playing the inverted role of stepping out of the backline into midfield but whenever Pep actually put him in the proper ‘Rodri’ role he was terrible. I remember 2 awful games v Palace at home in 2018 and Villa away 2023. Other than them games i cannot remember any others where this was asked of Stones

We still need 2 midfielders this window.

We have no one that presses from that front .I know people don't wanna name names or call their favorite players out but when's the last time we saw Foden, Haaland, Gundogan, Doku, Grealish, Savinho, McAtee, Bernardo, Kovacic pressing??

We're wide open as everyone's legs are gone! :(
 
Higher value players are beginning to move in the January market. Kolo Muani to Juve, Vlahovic moving to Arsenal?, Kvaratskhelia to PSG. This will mean the market has more money to be exchanged among clubs.

Deals can be finalised and players should start arriving at new clubs. City can welcome their new signings and finalise negotiations.

Yep, if we can’t press, we need a change the way we play
 
I’m starting to think the clubs idea is to sign 2 cbs (which then allows akanji to play rb) and Marmoush will then sort the midfield issue.

By signing these it frees up foden (who has been operating from the right), Lewis and Bernardo all to operate centrally alongside one of Gundogan and Kovacic.

I’m not saying it’s a good idea but I believe that is the plan at this point imo

We've seen every possible combination of each of those in midfield already this season and not one has worked - it will continue not to work until we get someone with legs, energy and who is capable of what Pep wants them to do.

A secondary striker/ winger will not solve our midfield issues.
