It’s Quiet 20 - What is the Wirtz that could happen?

You must be confusing Ornstein with someone else. I can't think of a single thing he's gotten wrong. His reputation is everything, and the best football transfer ITK by a country mile.
The amount of players to other clubs are staggering. Virtually every player will have 5 or 6 clubs interested listed. It ain't rocket fucking science.

This. When he says something is done, it’s done. Rare to have a journalist like him. Especially in the modern age of journalists desperately trying to be first to scoops.

Lewis is a full back - Nunes is a right-footed midfielder and it was his first game as a fullback. It's quite evident what the point was.

He's played 3 minutes as CM in the league this season. Again, it's hard for him to turn a corner or develop as a midfielder when he hasn't been played as one. It's been Pep's decision not to play him midfield, and instead persist with Kovacic, Gundo & Bernardo - none of whom have been great. How many opportunities have they had this season to show what they aren't capable of anymore? I'm not advocating for Nunes to stay or stating that he's our saviour but it's daft to lump him with Philips.
The mistakes weren’t ANYTHING to do with position being played. They were basic “having no football brain” mistakes.

I am very intrigued as to who we go for in the midfield slot. If it will be a left field name like Khusanov or Reis.

Christ, I was making the point he wasn't trusted to play CM by Pep - YOU responded by saying he was trusted in the derby because you evidently misunderstood my point and are doubling down on that by arguing a point I didn't make.

A good stop gap IMO- PL tested.
Luiz is the ideal player to buy for the long term.

I’ve been getting a bit bored of hearing Blues say ‘we need a Rodri replacement’, like Rodri’s being sold or something (I don’t mean you because you didn’t say that, I just mean in general).

We don’t need a Rodri replacement, we need a Phillips replacement. We need someone who can be understudy to Rodri but is also both good enough to play with Rodri while Rodri does his 2023-24 #8 damage and to play without Rodri while Rodri gets a rest.

Luiz is a huge upgrade on Phillips or fresh air.

Philips was originally Fernandinho's replacement as competition & cover for Rodri. It's not a supporting cast we need. Our players need to know they can never get too comfortable, as there's another player ready to step into their boots the moment they slacken off, & that includes Rodri.

I actually love the guy as player ...

Think the Juve move was odd for him..

People saying no thanks were the same people who said no to Gareth Barry ...

They want a shiny new toy ....

Luiz will be mint for us

Villa didn't give him a choice. He was one of the few players who they could get big money for
