The reason we are targeted down our flanks is the lack of functional fullbacks. I think there is a player in Gvaudiol but he is not a full back and it shows every week. With Walker out of the door we really need a right back too.
There is a lot of work to be done with this team before we get back to challenging at the top again. I don’t see it happening next season as it will be Pep’s last.
It’s not totally doom and gloom but it’s clear we need an overhaul. I’m sure the club knows this. It may even take the form of a new playing style (with or without Pep). This may explain the reluctance to sign a Rodri type midfielder.

I disagree on Stones being our best defender and there being no leader. Those guys have led us to title after title.

Also, Pep has another two years (at least), not one.

You’d think so not sure wha this release clause is.
Must have looked baring in mind he’s having a great year, based on Spain and we have a huge scouting network. If we are to replace KDB in the summer we will probably think we can get Wirtz/Musiala but I’d love Baena if/when they don’t happen.

Ederson could well leave, potentially Grealish, Bernardo. You said 1 or 2 when it's already looking like 3 this window alone. I will guarantee that between this week and the end of the summer window we will have more than 1 or 2 arrivals for a number of reasons. Do you think this will happen?

I agree but i do think theres a mentality issue too along with exhaustion, More games , 115 outcome, peps personal life perhaps affecting his professional life a little. One of the main issues is an ageing unmotivated squad of players wbo completed it all. Depends what club wants do they want to build slowly again signing potential gems from south amercia whilst maintaining 4th spot for a while, a la tarquins wenger or do they want to immediately regain our title off the victims? And add in a couple more CLs ? In the 2nd case we need to sign quality established hungry players and soon
 
Txiki needs to deliver in his last window. young CBs all good for the future but they aint coming in and play a lot for us between now and May I am sure of that. later on maybe yes.

its like Arsenal who have Saka, Jesus out injured, Havertz aint clinical even Martinelli regressed compared to 2 years ago, they do need someone like Isak up top, ad they would spend weeks getting someone to replace Tierney on the bench and another young one to be 4th CB.

address our big weakness as this season can be still saved by finishing top3 and with a good FA cup or CL run. without serious midfield change I can see us finishing 5th or 6th and made fun of in the CL unless we make fun of ourselves by not even reaching KO stages first time in ages.
