It’s Quiet 20 - What is the Wirtz that could happen?

No, there is just no universe it takes over 3 months for them things to happen. We also aren't in a position to slow that process down. If it is a case of fees then get it paid and save our season. We lost another two points yesterday which may not have happened with legs in the middle. Just seems a daft risk to not pay more short term for long term gains like CL football. That's where I would assume we aren't haggling with anybody currently.
Naive then, no problem

Bollocks to that, maybe grealish and a lot less than 70mill but no way should we be letting mcatee or doku go when they both very young and have huge ceilings
Doku jeez, heigh ceiling if he could run more than 10 meters.

I can see that patience is one of your strengths
To be fair, we could blatantly see that we needed a strong Phillips replacement/Rodri back-up in September 2023 when Rodri got sent off and we lost all three games without him. That was rubber stamped in November 2023 when Rodri picked up his 5th booking of the season and missed the Villa away game which we put in our worst ever performance under Pep without him.

We’ve thrown away a calendar, put up a new calendar, thrown that calendar away and put up another new calendar since then.

We once had Fernandinho and Rodri; Fernandinho and Fernando; Fernandinho and García; de Jong, Barry and Vieira; Bosvelt and Sun Jihai; Foe and Horlock… we currently have nobody.

A lot of people may disagree with this, but I wouldn't hate a James Maddison for Jack Grealish swap.

I'm a big fan of Grealish but it seems it may be time for some new ideas. For both club and player.

I've seen speculation that Spurs have sniffed around the idea of Grealish as of late, and Maddison is not in the lineup again tonight. I think we could use his directness and hunger while we find ourselves again. Would be a good lad to have around in my opinion. He's also looked really sharp when he's been involved since joining Spurs. Injury issues of course, but I can see the fit. He gave us the run around last time out.

If we want a left back, we should look at Ait-Nouri from Wolves. Only 23 but very experienced in the Premier League and very talented in my opinion. I do not much like City's tactic of using centre-backs to overlap. Gvardiol does it OK, but he's a bit slow and gets caught out in transition quite a lot. I think you need options in a squad and since Walker grew old, we haven't played with full-backs who can attack like a winger. Liverpool play with full-backs who are good offensively and 2 out and out centre-backs in Konate and Van Dijk. We seem to be using 3/4 centre backs and have more or less given up on fullbacks. I don't think it is a priority but we could do with full backs or wing backs, whatever you want to call them.

We signed Europe’s best young CB and stuck him at LB!

We've looked at him before, don't think he's good enough.

We haven’t improved the midfield since 2019 when we signed Rodri

Good god. Can’t stand Maddison. When the going gets tough he disappears (just ask spurs and Leicester fans) . Not a grealish fan by any means but I rate Jack higher than this guy.

Not only that but he absolutely loves himself and is a right poser. Can’t stand him!!!
