Of course - the midfielders are left high & dry, with the attackers offering fuck all OOP.

The 4 2 3 1/ 3-1-6 just doesn't work with these players. If we persist over the next run, eeesh.
 
I don't know where else to put this but the club has done just abysmal squad planning for the last few windows. At the scene of every crime in these games is someone who either should've been moved on multiple windows ago or someone else who isn't good enough (but we got a good deal for them and net spend stayed low). It actually boggles my mind that they thought this midfield was good enough in the summer.
 
So all the excitement and euphoria over the last few days about the new 3 signings has gone.

We’ve always needed a defensive midfielder after losing Rodri, and we still do.

The people running the club need to find the money and buy that defensive midfield player before the transfer window closes.
 
Maybe Ferna can come back out of retirement, Im sure he would keep up with Gundo, Kevin and Kova in training.

Edit: Man, he hasn't retired yet.. I actually thought he had. Fit as a fiddle.

Marmoush will help, but I'd be surprised if Reis or Khusanov feature much at all.

Without a CM we'll get hammered in the CL next round and finish 7th or 8th in the league.
 
The transfers are more exciting due to the unknown element to them. Will they make enough of a difference to change the way this season is heading?..no chance.
 
I said multiple times in the summer we have no one that can put a tackle in but Rodri, Silva and Kovacic. Who could’ve anticipated that Silva (a player that has been flogged for three seasons in a row) would physically decline and Kovacic (who was unreliable for Chelsea) would play poorly in a high pressure environment? Anyone with foresight could’ve seen how bad this situation could have turned out.

Is what it is for now, need about 4 more deal players to make that system work. We don't have them, and we've not getting them this month.
 
Hugo Viana biggest job is telling Pep that he’s going to sell his favourites and we’re moving on from them.

Certainly seems that way unless we can get in a proper midfielder and at least one full back in the next few days.

I’m shocked at how those running the club seem so relaxed about how shit our midfield is. They get so much right, but refusing to break the bank on Guimaraes, Zubimendi or Ederson is just weird.

What do they honestly think two kids coming in at centre back can change about this season?

Desperately need proper fullbacks too.
