It’s Quiet 20 - What is the Wirtz that could happen?

Watched Cherki many years ago. He is insanely talented but not really sure how he's done over the last three or four years.
He has been insane the last 2 years.

Creative output is the highest ive seen (according to fbref) other than Kevin.

But some posters are saying his entourage may bring some issues.

I dont know what to make of it, but he is still so young at 21, maybe Pep coming to City will be a calmer environment for him?

Don’t know if the 4-5 number includes Walker or not, but he’s definitely gone too. Hard to see Stones staying with his injury record. There’s been reports/rumors before that Grealish has wanted out in the past but Pep has convinced him to stay. Spurs are interested and it wouldn’t surprise me if Villa tried to get him back if they fail to sign Rashford or Asensio permanently after their loans end. Any Stones/Grealish departure would most likely require us to pay off some of their wages if they move domestically, unless Saudi wants them. Nunes will have a book value of £30.6m, but is only 26. Would suit well to Atletico’s style of play, but Saudi is probably more likely
Nunes is too much of a tampon to play for a Simeone side.

He is showreel player

People need to factor a World Cup year, so it's a double-edged sword for someone like Stones.

He'd be more inclined to stay and run down his final year, especially as most clubs won't or can't match his existing wages and even the lower fee we would likely accept.

On the flip side, if he's not a starter at City, it doesn't matter if he's injured or not, he may have factor taking a lower wage to move on and have any chance of making England squad.

Personally, I would let him have the entire summer off and not take him to Club World Cup.

Let him run down his final year and, like KDB, grant him that final free agent pay day.

We wanted Musiala real bad, lots of talking to his people over many months.

As always, doesn't really matter if the player suddenly decides something better serves him.

I don't see Wirtz choosing City with his other options and the familiarity it can maybe afford him, despite it going without saying we are interested in every top player.

Blues need to temper their expectations. Nobody is coming to take over from Kev, that's impossible and also unfair.

I'm sure City already have their guy but Bayern have done so much groundwork on Wirtz already and have his dad on side.

To be honest tolmie im not sure we need to go and splash out on a perceived galatico. We need people with legs and energy with the potential of becoming musiala or wirtz. Especially with the return of Rodri

I suspect it will be Xavi Simons, a difficult deal still to do but one we are quietly working on for over a year now.

Christian Falk who’s usually pretty reliable on German football says Leipzig would be willing to negotiate for around €70-80m. I’m guessing that’s almost half the price of Wirtz

The tweet in question just came up in my feed looking up info on him. (though he had a RC for some reason)

There was this lad who looked really good for Argentina in the U20's recently. Perhaps worth a look?
