It’s Quiet 20 - What is the Wirtz that could happen?

Echimessi, Bobb, O'Reilly, Foden of last year, we have our own, not bothered about Wirtz, would much sooner get a world class Gundo replacement, CB (Stones, Ake, Akanji injury's) and a RB, Keepers if needed.
4 x worldie's

"I really feel Fifa have made it even more difficult for us this year to negotiate deals with having the World Cup in the middle of the transfer window."

Why?

It could actually be a very useful chance to bed in several new players.

We will also get the benefit of a settled Marmoush, Reis and khusanov (and hopefully Echeverri) after they to have had chance to settle after arriving in January and gaining much needed experience in the PL.
I understand the competition may be good to bed in some of our new buys etc. However, I feel it will probably make it more difficult trying to get transfers through in the middle of a tournament.

Then you have the added issue for someone like KDB, whose contract expires in the summer. Is he ours to play (I'm sure he would like to be part of the competition as his swansong) or is he out of contract?

Let's say we're thinking of selling the following (pure guesswork) Ederson, Ake, Stones, Gundo, Bernardo, Nunes and Jack. Presumably they will be travelling to the States unless we've sold them all before the tournament has started.

I'm not sure we will lose as many as mentioned above, but whatever I think there will be a number of players leaving and arriving in the summer.

An example ...we sell 3 players in week 1 of the tournament and buy 2. Can the 2 be registered to play in the tournament? I would assume not, as squad list probably needs named possibly 10 days before the tournament begins.

I don't know the regulations of the tournament, but I would think it will give us an extra headache when dealing with transfers.

I do get your point of bedding in some of our players, though.

I disagree on the transfers, players like to play in big tournaments and whatever we think about this one it will get worldwide attention.

It's going to be like a semi competitive pre season and the perfect trip for new players/staff to bond.

I would think several of the senior players if still at the club won't go and will be given a full summer off.

Pretty sure the Wirtz move was never on. Same way Musiala wasn't. Or Mbappe. Or Bellingham.

We'll sign a bunch of players you've never heard of and you'll like it.

Bellingham was on his way, but one call from Madrid was enough to take a quick u turn.

Cherki with 2 more sublime assists for Lyon.

Now has most assists in Ligue 1 (and xA too so not fake assists).

More realistic than Wirtz, Pep can mold him.
From free flowing football to a no dribble merchant ?

I think the English players will be relatively easy to move on. Homegrown rules across the league will see them in demand and grab decent enough money.

I think we will get £40m for Jack, £30m for Mcatee and £30m for John.
We've not managed to sell Phillips, maybe qualities higher with those three but so is the injury re ord with two and the other only has one year left and is not proven at this level though we may get a decent sum for him.

Think another 6 or 8 was always the main priority, and we lose Kovacic, Grealish and maybe Bernardo or Gundogan. Think Wharton for Grealish the most likely.
yeah, think they move to two CMs if they cant get Wirtz tbh. a 6/8 (Wharton/Larsson/Baleba etc mould) and 8/10 (Batrina/Baena/Kulusevski etc mould).

Fuck know how they are juggling registration with the names targeted, supposedly staying etc though.. doubt any reporting is accurate yet tbh (Clearly dont see Cherki being an option either with his rep and entourage)
