Wouldn’t mind a player with a slight change in philosophy. Not that we counter often sometimes looks like we don’t know what to do.I totally agree, anyone who's watched him can see he's class. My only concern is he plays counter attacking football at the moment so may struggle to adjust to parked busses
I have always said that signing players from Germany is great because I think the league is competitive throughout (apart from Bayern the last 10 years, but look now)How many players that we have signed from Germany have failed?
From 3rd down at least. Top two are some distance away.I have always said that signing players from Germany is great because I think the league is competitive throughout (apart from Bayern the last 10 years, but look now)
I also know fans of other teams that say the same. I can’t be arsed to list them all but so many clubs have similar success as we do with little failures.
Yes it’s top heavy but the rest is really competitive throughout. Like the prem mid table and relegation is never guaranteed. From 3rd down at least. Top two are some distance away.
Yeah, I’ve got a strong feeling the Cambiaso deal is already done and dusted.Cambiaso.
I’d say that’s done unless Juve try and stick us for more money.
I think he’s perfect for this stage of a rebuild. Could see us getting him this summer and then an out and out full back the following. He’s more of a Cancelo style player but let’s be honest that was great for us. We need to work out Joskos long term position as well, for me he’s the perfect Stones successor.Yeah, I’ve got a strong feeling the Cambiaso deal is already done and dusted.
Ideally, for the right-back position, I would’ve liked to see someone like Vanderson come in—Hakimi would’ve been the dream, though that’s highly unlikely. Singo was another solid option I had in mind. On the left-hand side, players like Livramento, Dimarco, Kerkez, or even Antonee Robinson would’ve been exciting picks. Truthfully, I could go on listing more, but at the end of the day, my personal preferences don’t carry much weight in the grand scheme of things.
Cambiaso—it's not that he's useless defensively, but compared to the names I’ve listed, he still leaves quite a bit to be desired in that department. That said, his versatility brings undeniable value. He’s the type of player who can seamlessly slot into any gap caused by injuries, whether on the flanks or even in midfield. His ability to invert fluidly into midfield and cover both sides of the fullback position gives him a unique tactical edge. That kind of multifunctional profile is exactly what Pep seems to value—and to be fair, I can completely understand why
I loved Cancelo, his a very gifted player, technically supreme, and I think Pep still misses having that kind of player in the squad—which is probably why he’s so keen on pursuing someone like CambiasoI think he’s perfect for this stage of a rebuild. really, he been terrible all game.Sold on Cherki. Him or Wirtz, very disapointing if we can't get either
Alternatively, we go and spend a fortune, bring in several players and then we get done with a transfer ban ;)
You could see how he racks up so many created chances. Should of made two for Lacazette if not for poor finishing and bad positioning. Natural playmakerreally, he been terrible all game.
There is no better 10 than cherki bar Wirtz and honestly even Wirtz isn’t that far away from him.Let Dortmund have Cherki, I've never been convinced. He does stat amazingly though but needs a lot of development still. Too many like that will be crowded.
