It hasn't upset me as much as I thought I would

I’m still in Porto, on way to airport to fly home. Like the OP don’t feel as devastated as I thought I might. Quite odd really.
It was a massive effort getting out here. And travelling independently meant it was bloody expensive. But from the moment I saw the team sheet knew we were in trouble. Pep pepped himself again - this time on the biggest stage. We were lucky it was only 1 in the first half and we never really got going in the second. Can’t get too wound up when we clearly didn’t deserve it.
That said, not looking forward to this flight back to Gatwick filled with loads of celebrating Chelsea fans

Totally agree, but what I don't agree with is all those behaving like glory hunters last night slagging of the team and manager because we lost. We don't have a God given right to win everything.
KEEP AWAY from match day threads......

My only advice I can give....................Depressing as fuck the match day thread.

I agree with the OP and although Chelsea were the better team and deserved to win the fact that their two CL triumphs came when they finished 4th and 6th in the league shows the true value of the CL for me - way below the league.
True, but I said last year I rate Tuchel very highly and would consider him as next manager. I also said after the FAC Cup defeat that I expected them to make the CL final and it would be a very tough game against a strong defence. He's done a fantastic job in just a few months there with a team that was going nowhere under Lampard, and I wouldn't be surprised if they're a serious threat next season

Anyone else weirdly not arsed?

Out of all my 35 yrs as a blue and disapointments this weirdly ranks very low.

Probably a thread for anyone who can take disapointment
The worst thing for me was that once the line up and formation was announced the fans and team probably knew we were likely to get beaten.

Playing that team ruined it for me before the game had actually started and I found my self doing other things during the game rather than stuck to the tele. Like most other blues I’d been looking forward to it all week but it was just one big let down and total disappointment.

That would not be the scouse reaction at all. Scousers would tell everyone they are the victims (cheated out of it, bad luck for them, lucky opposition, had less rest etc..). A long list of excuses. They also come up with some nonsensical deflection, occasionally expressed as a poem. I have not come across that on the forum.

A few here will be indifferent. For a number of years, a fair number of posters have stated that they don't like the competition, and not just when we lose.

I would place money on there not being an "I don't care that we won" thread if things went the way we wanted.

Piss off who ever isn’t bothered. Our lost cup final loss was to Wigan 8 years ago, I forgot what the pain felt like. Whether it’s the champions league final or carabao cup, it’s hard to take.
Made even worse by losing to fucking Chelsea.

Everyone knows our whole focus for the last 10 years is to build to try to win the CL and in those 10 years we've now seen fucking Liverpool win it and fucking Chelsea win it twice. Christ, even Spurs got the final before we did. It hurts.

Maybe it's just me but had we lost to Real or Barca for example, it would not be quite so bad. At this rate, Leicester will win it before we do.

Yes you're spot on, in fact I said before the match that I had no intention of going anywhere near the in - match thread this time. If that's the attitude I'm not going anywhere near the post match threads in future either. Reading most of that drivel was more depressing than losing any match. How did they cope when we were in Div. 2?

Yes, the frustrating thing for me is we've been getting close for years, then the likes of Liverpool and Chelsea come along with a new manager and do it first time.
