It hasn't upset me as much as I thought I would

The heartbreak has eased a bit since saturday night (not totally gone, though). But the anger is still as strong as it was at full time. It's an opportunity missed. There's no guarantee that we'll get back there next season. CL finals are not easy to get to.

That's exactly what I find myself thinking, and one of the reasons I'm so down about this. People are presuming that we're going to breeze through to St. Petersburg, but it could take several years. Pep has said, over and over, that it's not enough to play well to win the CL. You definitely need your quotient of luck in certain matches. We haven't had it in previous tournaments. Well, in the away leg against P.S.G., we got our ration. Kev, on his own admission, sent over a cross that was just fishing for whoever might happen to be around. It went in. Mahrez takes a free kick that wasn't even clearing the wall. Inexplicably, a chink opens in it — completely surprising their keeper — and it sneaks through. That's the kind of luck we've never had before. Will we get it next year in a key match?

Chelsea are excellent at what they do. If they can get a good striker to replace Werner (who I really don't rate) they will be a real threat for the title next year.
Werner goal scoring apart is a quality forward.

Great movement, pace and work rate, if he was a goal threat he would be some player.

He lives offside. Worse than Gabi for that, by a long way. I'd always feel confident defending against Werner. Havertz, now, is always dangerous. Didn't surprise me that he scored.
We'll just have to agree to disagree.

Should add "but I'm still absolutely fuming with Pep's team selection" to the thread subject line.

Everyone was gutted of course but it's more
annoyance and anger which is still getting to most of us.

We can take losing, we've had years of it.

Likewise got over it much faster than I thought on the night. The main thing for me is it seems to leave the season as a disappointment as it was the last game yet we have had an incredible season. I mean at many points in 80s and 90s and 2000s we dreamed of a cup. Any old cup. And have now owned the carabao. Still have soft spot for that post 1976. And champions for the third time in four years. Dreamland. Never thought I’d see the day.

all I ask is a transfer reaction. We must replace Sergio. Chairman’s comments encouraging but let’s see. We will have to smash our record but it needs doing. No messing about.

Have you seen there defensive record against big teams. In the Knockout round They conceded 2 goals in 7 games against Porto, Atletico Madrid and Real Madrid and City

In the League round they conceded 2 goals in 6 games.

That is 4 goals conceded to win the CL in 13 games and you think they are average. City conceded 5 goals in 13 games.

You are talking nonsense.

kiss my arse.

Must admit I’ve been indifferent towards the champions league for years, even before we were anywhere near getting into it. Would have been good to get the monkey off our back as it would have been one less stick to beat us with by the jealous masses. It will happen sooner rather than later I’m sure. Our league is the most competitive and, in my humble opinion, the hardest to win so to me we are Europe’s finest.
