England's defenders were good in general to be fair to them.

We all have a go at Maguire on here and he is not the most cultured defender, but he has had a pretty good tournament.

His penalty was a thing of beauty, an absolute blaster that took out the camera.

The whole defence were excellent regardless of what team they play for. I even warmed to Rice and Phillips.

As numb nuts ain't going anywhere he needs to find a better balance for the other positions and also play only one DM sometimes. We created pretty much nothing in 2 hours of football.

Mancini made loads of subs. How many did we make? I was shocked they didn’t beat us in normal time. It was one way traffic.

This game reminded me a bit of that second leg in the Champions League under Pellegrini.

Where you felt there was no real belief we could win.

We scored after 2 minutes tonight,tried to shut up Shop for 88 minutes.

Clearly the first 5 pen takers had been more or less decided pre-match and they were two of them.

Hard to believe there weren’t more experienced players who would have been happy to step up imo.

Watching other nation’s penalty shootouts I always felt that Italy was one we could break our duck again and considering they missed two that could have been the case tonight. We have lost shoutouts scoring way more than two.
