Do you guys get the TV Show "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" over there?
I'd heard it was good, but never watched it. Once I finally did, I realized it was one of the funniest shows on TV. I think I've heard some people here say they like Curb your Enthusiasm. Always Sunny is like that, except that instead of accidentally getting into awkward situations like Larry David, they do it on purpose and don't care about the consequences. For example, the 3 main guys own a bar and start letting in high school kids in one episode. In another, they pretend to be crippled to get free lap dances from strippers, etc. It's very un-politically correct, but hilarious. I think it might fit the English sense of humor. Plus, this one is original American. I don't think we stole the idea from you (The Office, etc).
Here's a clip from the first episode. One of the characters quotes a black friend at a restaurant. A waitress overhears him and misunderstands and thinks he's racist, so he goes out to try to make some more black friends to prove her wrong.

You can watch just about every episode on Hulu.com for free.
